  • Not sure the economy needs another bank holiday. Still suffering from the last one.

    Best let her know.
  • Do hope it's a St Pauls jobbie for the funeral - can see it from my desk :)

    Westminster Abbey I think.
Boris will be in charge of the piss up in that case.

I think you'd get lynched by the Royalists if you are at your desk on the day of the funeral!

Truss presumably and not the Queen.

Whole family have travelled up there now so definitely not looking good.

It's going to confuse the hell out of the average English football supporter when they have to learn new words to the anthem!
  • Not in hospital either, so presumably not expected to recover.

I'm by no means anti-royalist but I find the people who are starting to gather outside Buckingham Palace a bit batshit. Even if she was there it would be odd behaviour but when she is 500 miles away it is totally bizarre.

They should join the heaving crowds at Balmoral

That's everyone who lives within a 50 mile radius to be fair.

I wonder what unwelcome policies Truss is going to rush out in the next few days whilst no-one is paying attention.

I must admit I thought her house was bigger than that.

assuming it is worse than for Diana buckle yourself in, as that will not even touch the side of the madness to come

It's going to cost a fortune to change all the official logos with the ER crest to CR.

Buying shares in Interflora might be a good hedge against the cost of living crises. They can then burn the millions of dead bouquets to generate energy in a few weeks time.

Must be at the point where its time to go now, eh?

    Good innings.

I hope that Truss can manage some sincere gravitas without a Thatcher impersonation, and without mentioning pork markets. Queenie deserves a bit of a send off.

Wonder how King Brian will deal with the politicians he has to deal with now ..

    RIP Queen Elizabeth.
I recommend switching off TVs and radios for at least 3 days.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Thank goodness they named him Charles and not Brian. He'd be late for the funeral.

End of an era and what change she saw.

Facebook is already awash with mawkish sentiments and graphics. I'm not sure what people are achieving by sharing the equivalent of a really crappy Hallmark condolences card with a rhyme that doesn't quite scan...

Though he'd be BRex, so the headlines would write themselves, with but minor adaptions...
  • I thought she would have hung around for a few days, as oldies tend to do.
Oh well, such is life and death.
I guess we know whats' on tv tonight and tomorrow and the day after.....

Aye well, there's Spotify, iPlayer... I'll not be putting on 'live' radio.

It's all over YouTube live streams too.
Every American news outlet is leading with it.
Fortunately the iPlayer is showing the final of Diamond league athletics season.
