lol because sheikhs are known for their casual philanthropy, especially for British charities.

    🫠

why shouldn't he take suitcases full of cash? he is the heir of an hereditary monarchy. What is the point of cutting all those ribbons unless you can accept sack loads of cash and nonce whoever you want?

As a horse eater you don't seem to understand the point of a monarchy

Queen "under medical supervision" after doctors became concerned for her health.

Doesn't sound promising with family heading up there and a transfer of power.

I guess having to meet two Tory leaders in one day was too much trauma.

    Absolutely.

Being 96 probably isn't helping though.

If she dies it's all the pre-recorded obituaries etc.

Gutted it won't be spring/summer NGL
  • When would any Bank Holidays be?

I remember Diana dieing and a lot of businesses shut out of a mark of respect. I think we got a day off for the funeral. I remember I went water skiing and it was packed.

Coronation would not be until next year after a suitable period of mourning

Obviously no royalist but it's pretty exciting stuff if you've done much history.

    Sounds about right.
Two days minimum in total for both.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I reckon her meeting with him and then seeing the successor took away her will to live, she was OK on Monday.

talk me through what I am missing?

I just see additional national embarasment
  • Either that or Truss said she would help her out with her heating bill.

She's looked at what the future holds and decided it's not much. Would you like to have to hold regular meetings with whoever is in charge? I'd be looking for excuses.

I mean, royals dying and being coronated are things that have been really well recorded for a millennium, near enough. They're huge things and just the ceremony around it is just really interesting; not least as this one's been queen for so long it hasn't happened in the majority of people's life time.

It's just a whole load of symbolic ceremony. Ignore the flag shaggers etc and talking heads and stick to the actual content and there's a lot to unpick and take in.

12 days of mourning - that's interesting in an of itself.

Might grant 12 seconds as she's been a good monarch.

I remember all local league football was cancelled for the weekend of Diana's funeral, as a group of lads in their early twenties we were pretty angry at not having a game due to something we had no interest in.

Not sure the economy needs another bank holiday. Still suffering from the last one.
