I know it's only their first matches, but it's good to see Murray and Raducanu through.

Hope you enjoyed it while it lasted.
I've had a bad day today, this and issues with salt.
Never mind. Wimbledon will be sponsored by Ralph Lauren, who are associated with the yachting crowd, which goes in the sea, which is salt water.
Your desalination may yet be required.
The irony of them making the players wear predominantly white whilst their officials have been dressed as something from the 1920s with a huge tacky polo player badge attached is actually quite amusing.

Poor Andy, he was looking competitive lately but might have trouble with my friend* John Isner in that kind of form on grass any year.

Raducanu’s loss wasn’t unexpected. She’s been in dismal form since the US open. A recent article about Father and daughter says they drain the resources and knowledge of coaches pretty quickly and it’s hard to find a coach to challenge their tennis IQ. In other words, they know it all. I don’t think many high level coaches will be in a rush to work with her.

    * I met Isner in Sainsburys Wimbledon a couple years ago.

Me: “Good luck Mr Isner (kissing @rse) no marathons this year.” (He holds the record for the longest match in history)

    John Isner: “Thanks.”

    🤩😃

    Yeah, some massive top spin.

    The current goat through.

I haven't seen it but Nick Kyrgios had a great match too apparently, he seems a bit hit and miss as a player though.

    Plan A, hit it hard
    Plan B, hit it harder.

    If A&B fail, whack it.

Best match I've seen so far this tournament not that I've watched much. Feels like Draper's head went in the second set tie-break and he's struggling to get it back.

It was a pretty good match for the first 2 sets, but then you're right I think.

Not surprising, he's only 20, but looks like he has the makings of being a great player, good serve and groundstrokes are there already, so probably the 'easy' part to work on is the epic fitness the likes of Nadal and Djok have in abundance before he can really start to challenge.

Hopefully a good coach can help him improve his strategy and tactics in tandem.

Out of all of the brit players, I'd say he has the most potential, though Norrie has shown glimpses of real skill in the past.

Looks like he has the attitude to be a winner and already has bags of confidence apparently. Few little tweaks to his game and preparation, particularly fitness over 5 sets and he’ll be in the top 32 in no time.

Yep, a bloody nightmare to play. Entertaining, but pushing the McEnroe limits of gamesmanship. Incredible serving.

I hope he plays either Nadal or NoVax to see if his mental onslaught works on them. I can't imagine they will let him get away with it.

Was bloody entertaining. No overly keen on Tsitsipas so didn’t feel to sorry for him but it should be about the tennis and not how much disruption you can handle from an opponent. The chair umpire had a difficult night and didn’t handle Kyrgios too well. I found the line judges amusing, running up to the umpire every few games to tell takes on Kyrgios 😂

I asked two line judges if they’d like a free cold shower when they passed me on their way to Wimbledon as I was watering my plants on Friday morning. They weren’t impressed, humourless buggers 😕 wait till I see them next time! Oops, my hose slipped.

Yeah, did feel sorry for Tsitsipas, number four seed, he should have got through really.

    Ha, nice:)

Best keep your tennis wishes private as they have a track record of going wrong. It’s all your fault. 😉
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Yeah the stats are old, but... there's at least one guy still in the draw who has a winning record against him. :-)

    Surprised at that stat.

I'd say Nadal has a shot, but yes, on grass, djok has to be the favourite.

Much like Draper, but even more so, I'd say the dutchman who took a set of him yesterday, will hopefully mature into a top 5 player, he was playing some incredible tennis.

Reminded me of an early Becker in some respects, serving rhythm/style, but ground stroke wise he often made me think of Federer.

Can't decide if I like Kyrgios or really don't like him.

I do think tennis generally lacks a level of sh!thousery and mind games, but he's also a pr!ck, so I really just don't know.

Imagine, you are both Tennis Pros. How would you both feel if you were drawn in match against him and he used his full repertoire of tactics?

Fvcking annoyed is the answer. I can't argue with the fact it's entertaining though, akin the Mac Daddy.

The match against Nakashima, I don't think he showed off once and he lost the first set. Whether one of his team/entourage had words?

He's really good. But he's better when he's just the right level of annoyed.

There was a game the other day where he went 0-40 down, got absolutely livid, shouted at his people in the players' box, and then played an amazing series of shots to win the game.

Roy and HG said that when it was announced that coaching from the stands was going to be officially allowed, he could have someone telling him when to smash his racket instead of having to work it out for himself.

I watched him the other day. He seemed to have the energy to do big serves, but couldn't be bothered to play any groundstrokes for some of the match. Weird. He needs to book himself in with Steve Peters.

He’s massively entertaining and I don’t mind s bit of shithousery to spice things up but this incident

    https://youtu.be/XSXMmqyZ280

a few years ago playing against Stan Wawrinka really put me off Kyrgios. Thing had got a bit testy between the pair during the match with Kyrgios deciding to make things personal by telling Wawrinka “My mate (Kokkinakis) f.ucked your girlfriend.” (Donna Vekic )

Fortunately Wawrinka didn’t hear him, only finding out after the match.

    Yep, definitely a pr!ck.

Bang on. Subdued, well behaved Kyrgios isn’t the best version. Nor is the complete melt down, throwing chairs one, but somewhere in-between.

He’s got the beating of his next opponent Garin which would potentially set up an encounter with Nadal. Kyrgios feels Nadal get preferential treatment from umpires because of his status with the time he takes between points and Nadal thinks Kyrgios is disrespectful. Could be a humdinger.
