Bilbo Baggins descending like a demon to catch Yates and Vlasov then beat them in the sprint.

I was going to ask "what's in its pocketsesss?", but of course that's Remco, right?

Amazing descending though - when commentators resort to just making noises you know someone's pushing it hard.

Pello Bilbao sets a new high in the Zubeldia award.
They can’t even find him on the GC. :D

Besides Sivakov who crashed yesterday, the big losers on GC were today's crash casualties, Jai Hindley and Dan Martin.
They gave up 2'-19" and 2-53" respectively and are both now outside the top 10.

Just watched on the catch up. Good race. Found myself clenching at times on that final descent. Love that terrain.

Did Dan Martin lose his bottle after his trip to the lay-by? Lost a lot of time in a few km.

    Yup.
He had a second taste of Trentino tarmac.

Don't know if anyone noticed (the commentators didn't) but at one point one of the Bardiani riders actually turned full circle to go back down to collect a struggling team mate.

Yeah I noticed that. He was in the main group as well. Never seen that happen before.

Today's stage is another of those short, punchy stages that are flavour of the month.

The final climb isn't as hard as yesterday, but more regular. They do it twice on the finishing circuits.

Just realised I've ridden some of this. Ballino is a pain in the arse for us mortals, but should nothing much to them. Three ramps with flat in between that just gets annoying.

The descent from there to Garda down the road they're using is stunning. Should be a good finish, especially if Bilbao does the same again.

Putting this here as I can't think of anywhere else it would go (we don't have a thread marked "alarming and baffling production decisions"), but mostly because I've heard this and think everyone else needs to suffer too.

This stage is just going to depress me and remind me of the holiday I didn't get to go on last summer.

Well Bilbao won yesterday, so fair enough.

Certainly should be an entertaining finish given where they have put it! :#

Ah, was pretty but not interesting.

Except that weird crash that brought down most of the tiny peloton going uphill.

The Tour of Romandie starts tomorrow. Ineos talking a strong team, but they are the exception, rather than the norm.
GC contenders seem thin on the ground, but time trialists in abundance, as the race follows the usual formula of having both a prologue and an individual time trial stage.
However, this year the route does seem tougher, with some short, but steep climbs. It also includes a really difficult Queen stage with a monster mountain finish.

    Prologue.

    Stage 1.

    Stage 2.

    Stage 3.

    Stage 4.

    Stage 5.

Noteworthy that on stage 2, there's another bloody circuit.
Seems to be as catching as C19.
