Sivakov looked really good other than for those few vital seconds where he couldn't hold Yates' wheel. He recovered well, it just goes to show how close to the red line these riders often are when we complain that they are just following wheels.

Good watch that, just been on the Player (while at same time watching moneyball news spewing through). Impressive Yates. Impressive terrain.

    Thanks guys.

Got my final scan today on my wrist - hopefully will catch the end of this after that.

Is the UCI scanning for a wanking motor?

Excellent finish at the Tour of the Alps. Probably an unpopular win by Public Enemy Number 1 Moscon again but he was very impressive leading out the lead group of 4 from about 300m out with a group about to catch them and just holding on.

He really knew he had the beating of them - just started sprinting from the front with 300m to go, immediately dropped two of them and never looked like getting overtaken.

Just watched it and it was far better viewing than FW.
Bilbao with another Zubeldia stealth move and suddenly he’s on the podium.

The Giro del Trentino has always had some good racing. Definitely one of the better one-week races.

Looks like a fun finish today and the stats for the final climb are misleading....

So according to my estimates, they will go across to live coverage about 2km from the top of the Passo Campo Carlo Magno. Seems a shame.

    You were a bit off.
They got down to the foot of the descent before we got live pictures

The 10 minutes of preamble including none of that climb or descent was an interesting choice too.

Froome is struggling at the back of the break on this climb.

I think that was just while they waited for the host broadcaster to start showing live pictures rather than an ES / GCN production choice.

1700m climb, high point of the race and not even categorised.

Seems a lot of work by Ineos but I don't see Sivakov getting the better of Yates on the tricky downhill finish.

Is Bernal in the race? The description on ES Player says he is but I haven't seen him so assume not

    Edit Sivakov now struggling.

If the road surface on the descent's as sketchy as the climb then it could cause a few issues.

Martin looked keen to go on a gravel ride then threw himself off after reconsidering.

Fortunately it looks a better surface on the way down, although it's tight and twisty and littered with damp patches. Martin just decided to brake waaaay too late, rather than the road being an issue.
