I do not like him . The end"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0

Desperately sad - I was wondering what had become of him. That's a long way.RichN95. said:Froome five minutes down. It really might be the end. He really needs to show something in this race.

When you think 85 or so riders got to the end in the bunch he's clearly well off the pace. Perhaps most concerning is that he's not really showing any signs of improvement on his results last year, which could justifiably be written off as a comeback year.RichN95. said:Froome five minutes down. He does need to show somewhere. He might of let the wheels go through n the final as part of some recovery plan? I hope . But it's getting late .RichN95. said:Froome five minutes down. It really might be the end. He really needs to show something in this race.

I'm hoping he's just focusing on the proper mountain stages in this race and not bothering with the classics types stages. But it's probably a forlorn hope.
(Of course he may have had a mechanical)Twitter: @RichN950 -
It’s a sign of the times that they didn’t even have a single shot of him all coverage.

Maybe it's a ruse ...lol"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0

It does seem like he's raging against the dying of the light. I just cannot see any way back, and that's really sad.RichN95. said:Froome five minutes down. It really might be the end. He really needs to show something in this race.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -
Today's stage could well be the one that defines the GC. The final climb appears to be uncatagorised and I mention this because it seems unusual terrain to offer riders the protection of the the 3km rule.
It's a short stage, so the penultimate climb looks the likely battleground as it tops out 22kms from the finish.

Thanks guys.
Got my final scan today on my wrist - hopefully will catch the end of this after that.0 -
Given the extent of his injuries, the fact he's even able to take part in Pro racing again says something for his character and determination, as well as his engine.salsiccia1 said:

The chassis was smashed to sh1t in that crash, it's never going to be the same as it was.
Sad in some ways but hats off to him for even trying - he's got two kids and you'd imagine is very financially secure now - there would have been no shame in deciding not to come back.0 -
Same again today. An excellent pairing they are, too.Mad_Malx said:was Stephens and Lloyd yesterday on ES/GCN

Froome rolls in over 14 minutes down.
Still, it could be worse, at least he's doing the Tour not the Giro.
Thibaut Pinot, who is doing the Giro, finished 87th and more than 12 minutes behind Yates."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Old skool racing from the GC boys there . Yates was very Yates"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. Nice to see Pozzo still towards the sharp end after similarly horrible injuries in 2019. There's no real sign of improvement from Froome so this would appear to be his level for now. Shame.blazing_saddles said:Froome rolls in over 14 minutes down.
