More concerned that his average speed is dropping slightly. He wanted to be doing around 16.1 laptimes, still doing 16.3/16.4

Yeah I dunno. The record is 55.089 isn't it so he's going to have to come above 55 by some margin pretty soon. And he's still sticking around 54.98, so he's going to have to pick up a fair bit.

Matt Stephens did say it was his schedule, but perhaps his schedule is the current record.

He's going to need a very strong last 3rd, 50/50 at best I think.

Time is creeping out, and his line looks a bit ragged - below the sprinters line, then above it, not hugging it, extra cm being covered.

Great effort - perhaps the altitude has affected him more than anticipated.
