Aldi online specials are a great place to buy cheap power tools.

yeh, i got one of those 'multitool ' thingies from there. the one that's a sander and can be changed to a cutting blade. Absolute godsend for cutting into floorboards when you want to take just one section out for wire or plumbing. Takes the standard Ebauer blades too.

A year or so after, they were selling the model with the quick change blades. Bought one each for my lads for Christmas.

My FiL bought a cement mixer for £100 off them.

The people I bought my house off left me a directory of tools in the shed.
    Lawnmower
    3 section ladder
    Mattock
    Pick axe
    Shovel
    Spade
    Fork
    Hoe
    Leaf rake
    Rake
    Shears
    Edging shears
    The Persuader
    Hose pipe

I needed them as they had not been used in ten years

Best DIY spanners going are halfrauds professional range. Better than many so called pro tools

Agreed, better than my bluepoint, par-x and snap on. Although the best tool I have is a snapon ratchet screwdriver, in pink so it doesn't get lost and no one will steel it on site. I've had it for 37 years.

I'll hazard a guess that Snap-On were once high quality but have succumbed to "efficiency" in order to compete.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

KingDick are not as good as they were.
  • KingDick are not as good as they were.

No one buys them new as the old ones are indestructible. Proper industrial sized spanners, 2" plus. None of that 10mm nonsense.

Speaking of complete tools, what’s the go to cyclist multi-hex tool to carry with you on a ride?

There's a theme here, but I have a Halfords one that I got one Christmas with a new bike. When I was 13. I'm 40 now.

But seeing as you're probably looking for a contemporary recommendation... I also have a Syncros one, bought from Jay's in Ferrybridge when I left my Halfords one in the Smoke.
