    A sprint from a reduced bunch. He's been there or thereabouts in lots of the s*** small Italian races taking place over the last few weeks. Nice to see him finally nail one.

    I'd have thought it unlikely. I don't think he'd be a like for like replacement. Hayter seems to be much more of a fast man who can get over climbs from what I've seen of him. He'd be more suited to the classics.

    Ulissi won the GC in the Tour of Luxembourg as featured in No Ta Doctor's Viking thread. The final stage featured a classic premature celebration from Bahrain Merida's Colombian, Santiago Buitrago, who thought he'd won a lap too early.

    Well we aren't going to find out from Kirby, that's for sure.
    The last thing he's interested in is the BinckBank he's supposed to be commentating on.
    When he's not been having a giggling fit, he has talked about anything and everything but the race so far.
    Today is terrible, even by his low standards.

    Beggars belief how he's allowed to get away with inflicting this on folks who are interested in the cycle race.

    Indeed. He's just missed MVDP being paced back after presumably a mechanical. Missed him on bottle duty earlier also.

    Got my answer. Hayter is riding La Flèche Wallonie although Kirby seems to be under the impression that he is at Binck Bank.

    Cavendish showed himself for the bonus sprints and took a point without seeming to make a big effort but then neither he nor Colbrelli seemed to make any attempt to get involved in the sprint for the stage.

    Maybe it’s my age or some sort of bizarre crisis I’m having but at times I found my self tittering at Carlton today.

    Apparently Stages 2 and 4 of the Binky Bonky Tour have been cancelled as the Dutch mayors don’t want it. Talk of trying to switch one to the Zolder motor racing circuit

    Stage 4 was the Cauberg stage, so AGR will be getting the chop, too.
    The lengths they will go to keep Pogacar out....

    They gave the organisers less than 24 hours notice which is a bit ridiculous to say the least. They had no chance to rearrange today's TT at such short notice and moving it to Friday is also proving difficult.
    It's not as if Covid suddenly went nuclear overnight.

    Things have been in decline for weeks and apparently restrictions in the Netherlands are much less stringent than here.
