Right, been a busy couple of days, time to check in and see how the test match is going ahead of a nice evening and weekend of cricket.

Yeah, a weekend of play lost at Lords, that will cost a few quid. England have been poor with the bat, no doubt about that, but credit must go to SA too.
  • The answer is simple if these tests are to last close to five days.
SA get 2 innings, England get 4. (or 5 if necessary)

Bit of an odd one today, turned the highlights on and saw England at 60 odd for 3 and thought here we go again then realised they were chasing down a total. Bowlers obviously did well as did.Bairstow yet again with the bat, Crawley clung in there to see out the day despite runs being hard to find for him
  • This T20 semi final is incredibly one sided. Against the world number one ranked team.

Have to admit I thought England had got knocked out in the group stage! That's about as dominant a win as you could get chasing what was a reasonable looking score. Don't very often see a 10 wicket win in T20, at least not when chasing a decent target.

How many more world cup finals can England sports teams play in this weekend?!
Womens RU, T20 so far, possibility of men's RL and women's RL too!

No chance for the RL. Semifinals for the men on Fri/Sat, the women's is on Monday.

Back to the cricket. Thought we'd win. Didn't think we'd hammer them that much.

we have so much depth in the batting that the top order can play without worrying. Likewise we have 7 bowlers so have lots of options if pitch/conditions don't suit somebody.

I am really confident we will beat Pakistan
  • On the other hand, England got beaten by Ireland and only just scraped past Sri Lanka after looking home and hosed.

We may of been beaten, but I'd argue more by the weather than the Irish team. If it stayed dry I think we'd of chased it down.

The Sri Lanka game though.......that got a little squeaky. While I'm all for winning a game quickly, I'd of suggested that may be just knocking the ball round the park rather than trying to win it in sixes would of been a better idea (once the wickets started to fall)
  • The Indian dropped catch where it went for four and wouldn't have done without bounding off the fielder's hands summed up today for them.

The refusing to go get the ball (in the dying stage's of the game) after it hit the boundary was..... interesting

That was about as good a ball as you could bowl.

Early runs without wickets could be important as there’s a bit of drizzle around.

Pakistan made them work for it with some good bowling. The Afridi injury may have been critical.
  • Curran 3-12 is outstanding work.

Ben Stokes must have it written into his contract that he must be the man who produces the match winning knock England’s biggest games.

One over featured five plays and misses, but it still went for 11.

I think he learnt a lot from that last over in the 2016 T20 final.
