50 off 55 balls for Stokes and he's the slow one.

Can barely stand up as well.

Good day to have a freebie day at a Test match!

NZ manage to get the ball changed but the replacement gets the same treatment.

Stokes has decided he's had enough of playing second fiddle.

Most boundaries ever scored in a Test, might have to replace the ball again.

This would be carnage in a Twenty 20.

Bairstow out, England can still lose this.

Bairstow is going to hole out soon and the match is still in the balance then.

I reckon we can struggle over the line from here.

One of these two goes quickly and I wouldn't bet on it.

Yeah. They went from 150 to 200 in 3.4 overs. Carnage. Could just hear Boycott moan that it wasn't proper test match batting. Which is true but blimey it was fun to listen to. May have to watch the highlights on iPlayer later..

No clue. Bairstow? My choice at least.

Probably not the highest run scorer.

Safe bet, not the biggest wicket taker either. I would go for Root though as without his innings they wouldn't have been in a position to have the run chase, he did it under far more pressure. Who would have thought at tea on day 2 that England would win? I wouldn't have taken a bet on them avoiding an innings defeat.

    Has to be Bairstow, surely.

Frankly I wouldn't argue with Mitchell, Boult, Root or Bairstow getting it. Boult especially - on a batsman friendly wicket he's bowled superbly.

Southee would get whatever the opposite is of MOTM. No wickets, 4 runs and getting run out after facing one ball in the second innings.

Mitchell had a great first innings knock but dropping that sitter of a slip catch early in Pope's first innings (and then a second, much harder, chance shortly after) may have ultimately cost them the game.

Finally got to watch the highlights. The best thing was that virtually all of the boundaries came from good, traditional shots such as pulls or straight hits rather than slogs or 'inventive' one day type shots. That straight six from Stokes into the top tier was as good a shot as you'll see. Some pretty ropey bowling though, it got to the stage where it looked like NZ just wanted it over with as quickly as possible.

NZ agreed with you that if they kept inviting the pull, eventually he'd hole out. So they kept bowling to let him hit it to the boundary, but he never made a mistake.

England did the same, but not quite as badly, at the end of NZ's second innings.

It is strange in such a stop start game but at times teams utterly lose it. You would think the Coach would send on a message for a player to go down injured or the captain to return to the pavilion for a slash so they can gather their thoughts.

I was 90% confident we would win after NZ had two run outs in the second innings.
