Yes the first two seem obvious now but I had no idea Walsh was.Pross said:Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Courtney Walsh.

As you've never seen Vettori:joe2019 said:Daniel Vettori, Jason Holder, Shaun Pollock, Heath Streak, Anil Kumble.

Pollock was an all rounder - but, yes a proper fast bowling all rounder.0 -
Surprised me too, it wasn't a one off tour either. I think it said 22 times when I checked.verylonglegs said:

One thing I hate about the Ashes when they are held in Aus. The trepidation of checking the score when I get up in the morning....Occasionally worth celebrating, too often not.2

Early signs are not promising. Our two warm up games have yielded about one day of play. First test starting Wednesday. We must be seriously undercooked.JimD666 said:One thing I hate about the Ashes when they are held in Aus. I find turning on the commentary exciting. Overnight Root was not out and yet they mention he is facing the next ball and you have no idea if he is still in or we have followed on.JimD666 said:One thing I hate about the Ashes when they are held in Aus. Anyone know how much bt sport is for a month? BT website under maintenance at the mo so I can't get at it from there0
-
I've just realised it's on bt sport. I have it, but do they have any track record with cricket?
Presumably there'll be highlights throughout the working day...0 -
(It's £25 for a month contract free.)1

Hadn't realised it was on BT. That's great as I get it through my mobile package.0

I think they had their own commentary team last time they were showing it but this time they are using the Australian feed so it may be lacking balance.kingstongraham said:I've just realised it's on bt sport. I have it, but do they have any track record with cricket?

I don't have BT currently but it was nice getting up and watching an hour or so before work during the last ashes tour. Very tempted by the months subscription.Pross said:Hadn't realised it was on BT. That's great as I get it through my mobile package.

I'm hoping for a full on-demand option to repay the whole days play. They do seem to have on-demand available but no clue if that will extend to the cricketkingstongraham said:I've just realised it's on bt sport. I have it, but do they have any track record with cricket?

Reminds me just how good Eurosport player is. You can just restart any programme at any time.JimD666 said:

The BBC seem to have their commentary team in Sydney because of quarantine rules, so it's going to be a bit odd all round.verylonglegs said:

Imagine Carlton commentating on cricket? He'd be talking up every ball as though it was critical to the result and probably moaning about the danger of someone throwing a hard ball at another playerTheBigBean said:

Not to mention shouting to the fielder at short leg to get out of there as he's getting in the batsman's way.Pross said:

Unsurprisingly the 5th test is being moved from Perth. No decision made yet as to where it will take place.0

Well it made it to day 4 with 5 wickets still to take, but not that much tension in the match.surrey_commuter said:
Amazing achievement, especially as a spinner in the first innings.kingstongraham said:Ajaz Patel, NZ v India, first innings 10 - 119.
Also if somebody gets a tenfer itv usually means they were skittles but India got 350.
You would not want to be holding tix for day 40 -
The most optimistic of the BBC pundits has a 2-2 result.....
If we can get out of the Gabba with a draw at worst then I think we can pinch the series.
Going for a 2-1 England win.

Anderson rested for the first test.
Huh?! What's he been doing? They've barely played for weeks.
My optimism is fading.0 -
Second test is straight after the first. If he's only able to be fit for one of those matches might as well have it be the one where he's taken 16 wickets in 4 matches rather than the one where he's taken 7 wickets in 4 matches.JimD666 said:Anderson rested for the first test.

I understand why he's not playing, just not sure I agree with it. 1st test you want to come out all guns blazing, playing your best side. The best clue that it probably is the right decision though is the Aussies saying they'll miss him!
Can't help but wonder that, at 39, with dodgy calf (and the rest of his body) this may be a tour too far. If he pulls up lame in his first game (probably the 2nd test) and you're a bowler down for the full game. Wouldn't matter too much in the shorter versions of the game, but in Tests?0
