Does anyone know what constitutes proof of a recent positive PCR test for travel purposes? All I have is the email from the NHS - is that acceptable? Or is there some other obscure document I need to get?
I’m needing it for entry to Canada, if that helps.
Looking down this thread, people say that the proof of recovery on the NHS app works for Canada.

I was going to say the NHS app should show the positive under the Covid pass section shouldn't it?0 -

That’s really useful - thank you.0 -

On the FCO country page there is a link which gives more information on how to evidence this. I didn't read it.kingstonian said:pblakeney said:Surely it is proof of a negative test that you are after?
No - a number of countries require EITHER proof of a negative test taken a day or two before travel OR proof of a positive PCR test in the past 6 months (and more than 10 days before travel).
I currently have Covid, and am due to travel in 25 days time, so I require the latter.
Thanks - I’ll go and have a look at that now.0 -

Yes, it does indeed show it but I was under the impression I would need to provide a document. I was more wondering if people have merely been able to provide the letter from the NHS confirming a PCR test result was positive, Or if they needed something else.0 -

They've been running at 300,000 a day for a while, but that's quite a jump.
What's with the all over strawman?0 -
So day 5 and my first lateral flow since getting it and it's still positive.
Are you always still infectious when you are testing positive?
Or does the test still show up positive days after not being contagious anymore.0 -
It depends on the objective...rick_chasey said:So day 5 and my first lateral flow since getting it and it's still positive.

Two consecutive daily negative tests and you are considered non infectious.
But if you still test positive after day 10, get back to work anyway you sciver!
Well now it's just the flu bro so presenteeism rules, go infect your workmates and the public.================

It’s doing the responsible thing and contributing to the city centre economy. Also known as not destabilising the status quo until I’ve repositioned my investments.0 -

You've been given it. Some people continue to test positive on lateral flows for a long time, so in those cases 10 days is considered enough. If you test negative twice before that then you won't be infectious either.rick_chasey said:Yeah hilarious sarky comments about the government's policy besides, does anyone have an answer?

Lateral flow is good at detecting whether you are infectious. If positive, you're very likely still infectious.rick_chasey said:So day 5 and my first lateral flow since getting it and it's still positive.

5% are still infectious after 10 days.0 -
Ugh, OK.
I live in a small house and my wife and daughter have dodged it, so I'm keen for them not to get it as it'll be a f*cking pain for everyone if they do.0 -
I've been wondering that, there is a big difference between people thinking it is time to get on living with the virus in circulation and thinking it is all over. There was always going to come a point where the balance between risk to health and risk to economies would start to fall in favour of economy over health and I don't think it is unreasonable that our Government (and many others) have taken the decision that we've reached that point.TheBigBean said:They've been running at 300,000 a day for a while, but that's quite a jump.

That said, I also think there has to be an acceptance that restrictions might have to be reintroduced at some point if death rates start to climb sharply.0 -
surely better that you get it all togetherrick_chasey said:Ugh, OK.

12 kids out with covid in a class of 26 at my kids primary school class. I would say it is pretty widespread however it does not seem to be wiping out all the related adults.0

Day 8. Had a fainter line this morning.
Went out and went for a short (sub 3km) cycle and walk - maybe 30 mims? Included sitting on a bench etc.
I’m absolutely exhausted. Feel like I’ve done 100km. Have already slept 2 hours this afternoon and can barely keep my head up
Another test which is brighter again. 🙄

I had a very faint line yesterday. Tested again today and showing negative. I’ve been very lucky, my symptoms were no more than what I’d have from a common cold, whereas my wife who had it a week before me was knocked for six.0

Didn't you have it really badly at the start?kingstonian said:I had a very faint line yesterday. Tested again today and showing negative. I’ve been very lucky, my symptoms were no more than what I’d have from a common cold, whereas my wife who had it a week before me was knocked for six.

No, not me. This is the first time I have had Covid and it was quite mild, fortunately. Must be someone else you’re thinking of.0 -

Wait, there's more than one person in Kingston actually on this forum. Are you sure?briantrumpet said:kingstonian said:First.Aspect said:

I didn't have it particularly badly either, just in bed for a week. But its after effects have lasted quite a long time.0

How about now? (Aside from a brain that has shrunk 50% and damage to every internal organ, I mean).kingstongraham said:I didn't have it particularly badly either, just in bed for a week. But its after effects have lasted quite a long time.

Tired a lot still, back to working 4 days a week. Having a go at riding the bike and it's OK, have got up to being a mid range C on zwift. Still trying to work out how much of that is just loss of fitness.0 -
Glad you are more or less getting back to it. Still, frightening.kingstongraham said:
