You are also quite chippy, so it figures.2

At least they are not as sad as I'd feared.
A group of 50 though? Might as well say "What can we catch this time?"The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Proper social distancing hasn't been a thing since summer of last year though?pblakeney said:

Should have waited for the Easter holidays.
Have to say, my skiing holiday was pretty top, really missed it last year.
Skiing holiday is when you'd probably be the most vulnerable. Not while skiing, but the transport and socialising.
Actually mandating effective social distancing makes so many businesses completely un viable.

"A group of 50"
So what? Do you think they all slept in the same room?
They certainly won't have all skied together, though at times may have been in a cable car with up to 150 strangers.
Rock up at any mid sized hotel and you'll be sitting amongst 50 others.
Go on any package holiday and your transfer coach will have 50 people on it.
It's a complete red herring.0 -

They could cast someone like Henry Cavill as you, to keep it realistic.0 -
Yes, that’s ridiculousrick_chasey said:We can all agree testiing positive in the office and then not going home is a bit much.

Imagine a sort of younger iteration of Gareth from the office mixed with Alan Partridge and you're most of the way there.briantrumpet said:rick_chasey said:

Guess I must just be lucky then, or my methods work. All I've been doing is the steps I outlined above and I don't feel as if I've missed out on anything other than foreign travel.Jezyboy said:

Just had a scam text purporting to be from Track & Trace but showing as a mobile number, been in contact with someone etc, directing me to book a pcr test online via a dodgy link. So very last month. Scammers need to catch up with Spaffer's guidance.0

I do think if you've been effectively social distancing for the past 2 years and don't feel like you've missed out on anything, then you are on a reasonably extreme end of a spectrum of personalities.pblakeney said:

Which is fine, but I don't think you should subject the rest of us to those expectations.

Please give an example of something unmissable that cannot be catered for with social distancing. For the record, I'm glad I'm married. I'd have hated to be single. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Does anyone know what constitutes proof of a recent positive PCR test for travel purposes? All I have is the email from the NHS - is that acceptable? Or is there some other obscure document I need to get?
I’m needing it for entry to Canada, if that helps.0 -
Surely it is proof of a negative test that you are after? The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

No - a number of countries require EITHER proof of a negative test taken a day or two before travel OR proof of a positive PCR test in the past 6 months (and more than 10 days before travel).
I currently have Covid, and am due to travel in 25 days time, so I require the latter.0 -

Pretty much any live entertainment cannot be catered for.
Any visits to restaurants and pubs.
We can have bullshiit rule of 6 stuff. But it's neither that effective, nor profitable for venues.
And none of it is life or death unmissable. But I do not think the risk balence is sufficiently improved by putting all this stuff off until Easter to be worth putting it off.

Weddings - Outdoors or large venues and less guests. Can be done, just not as before.
Live entertainment - Was pretty much cancelled anyway so no option. Back on now but I'm an old fogey losing interest in over paying to see people past their best. If you are young then yes, that is an issue. Go to rammed clubs at risk, not for me.
Restaurants and pubs - Went to the local when things opened up last summer. Decided it was just full of people that aren't as interesting or funny as they think. It was like coming on here but with smello-vision and didn't even have cycling in common. It was just out of habit and once the habit is broken.....
Restaurants we've been to have had clear plastic dividers and ventilation. Can't see the problem.
Basically we are discussing a short window of 2 months between when things did open up and Easter. It's not that big a deal. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Looking down this thread, people say that the proof of recovery on the NHS app works for Canada.
