Saw VdP cycling / being propped up back to the team bus - never seen anyone as cooked as that. Absolutely glazed and shivering almost like a seizure!
Swift did amazingly.
Great day, but not a good one to find out your waterproofs aren’t.
too many umbrellas though.0 -
Good race, tough attritional technical . Classic0

MVP bonking was pretty epic"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0

I watched at Kidstones and planned to zoom to Grinton but obviously road closure scuppered that.
Much respect to the other hardy souls out on the hills. It was bleak as feck and the numbers were in the low hundreds as opposed to the thousands yesterday at Lofthouse and hundreds of thousands for TdF.
But... It was still an awesome morning.
That said the women at Lofthouse yesterday was much much more fun to be a spectator. There must have been 20mins between 1st and last rider. Great atmosphere.0 -
Yup, definitely both cold and wet. I ended up with all my layers on and my phone is currently in a bag of rice. Sounds like it'll be a good one to watch back on the telly at some point!

Pedersen coming 2nd at the ronde kinda went under the radar. Got it the same way too ...slipped away ."If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. Just watching it back - seen myself 3 times! In different places.
Van der Poels explosion was mental - the lights went out.
Also loving the Ned Flanders Flanders flag, didn't see that before.0 -

Some further description of what happened with the cameras - apparently there are usually 2 planes so they can cover each other (as there has been all week) but one of the planes had a mechanical this morning, and then the helis were grounded due to the cloud cover as well.0 -
Sorry for the crap sound - water got into my phone!

Ah but I think he means the Ned Flanders/Flanders lion combination flag as seen here - https://images.app.goo.gl/4YjWvMFS9gAZuXne9We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

I was at ‘Dutch Corner’ on Saturday and it was awesome , however I spent the afternoon today (Sunday) in the Starling watching on TV. After a soaking on Friday, on Saturday night and then Sunday morning, I gave up.
Great weekend though.2020/2021/2022 Metric Century Challenge Winner0 -

Made me wish I had booked today off work, and taken some beers! We went for a pint while we were waiting for the train station to become less chaotic, there were loads of pissed up Belgians in the pub we were in.
Great atmosphere all day, really enjoyed it.0 -

Where are you India?
Tropical South Wales, I went out at 5am and even then it wasn't cold so I was surprised it was apparently so much colder in Yorkshire. That said, I remember watching the ToB over the Black Mountain a few years back and standing getting soaked for a couple of hours so know how much it cuts through after a while (ended up giving a near hypothermic club mate a lift home after he'd ridden out to watch).0 -
What a great advert for cycling in Yorkshire.0

I lifted my son up so he could see the riders come past at one point (on that tight bend and rise as they came back into Harrogate, before coming back round to almost the same point)
We were jumping up and down so much his wellies shook off, and some pissed up Dutch men helped him put them back on!
The atmosphere was incredible, despite the rain, and Yorkshire has put on a wonderful show all week!0 -

Huh... I was standing there for a while too next to a guy with a little lad on his shoulders whose wellies were falling off...
We moved on before the wellies actually fell off though!0 -

There must have been a spate of welly related incidents yesterday. I saw at least 4 people fall over in the mud on that banking0
