It's bad, but imagine how bad it would be if you didn't know the songs already.
Indeed. Still have them playing, prob as I'll be bed heading soon. Disappointing. Emily E should have put the FooFighters on last tonight for a rev up the peeps. Or perhaps they want a quiet night 😉

When they panned out from the stage it was clear from the spaces in the crowd that were not actually that far back that a lot of other acts were getting bigger audiences tonight.

Didn’t watch but surprised GnR got a headline slot.

I’ve only ever read reviews ranging from disappointing to out and out bad about them live for the last few years.

I was surprised that they weren't worse.

No idea why they got a headline slot. Lana Del Rey was headlining a different stage and would have put on a proper show (and might even have been able to finish her set).

She did turn up 30 minutes late too, classic GnR move.

I’d assumed Toyah and Debbie Harry were a similar vintage and that Toyah had aged significantly better. On checking Debbie Harry is 77 and older than my mum whereas Toyah is a mere 65. Incredible she’s on stage putting that amount of energy into her performances. Does remind me a bit of Joanna Lumley’s character in Ab Fab though.

For better or worse I own a smartwatch (not apple).

I find it marginally more useful than a normal watch but far from life changing.

I have received a marketing email from the manufacturer which seems to be suggesting paying a monthly subscription for a new watch face is good value.

I’m intrigued as to who would agree with them.

Crikey, I won’t even pay upfront for one when there are literally loads to pick from for free.

The difference in coefficient of friction between rice and spaghetti. I need to remember that a plateful of spaghetti will quite easily slide off onto the floor. And no, it didn't. Almost, though.

How is the coefficient of friction of spaghetti and plate affected by dressing of a) olive oil and b) pesto?

Depends how much oil in the Pesto shirley.

But is Extra virgin olive oil slippier than ordinary olive oil?
Which is the slippiest - Spanish or Italian?
How slippy is rice coated in olive oil? Is it slipper than spaghetti?
How slippy is Olive oyl covered in Olive oil?
Why is 'slippy', 'slippiest and 'slippier' underlined in red ffs?

    So many questions...

Maybe because slippery, slipperier and slipperiest aren't.

The OED soes recognise 'slippy' as a word, but it's lost the battle to 'slippery', as in 'slippery slope'. I'll try to think of any parallel verbs/adjectives

Well well, 'slippery' comes not from 'slip' so much as the original meaning of 'slipper' (adj.) which meant "Having a smooth slippery surface or exterior; readily slipping from one's grasp or out of place, etc." From the Old English 'slipor'.

Meh, Al Pacino is 83 and has a newborn. 🤣

I suspect he'll be outsourcing a very large chunk of the childcare.

I'm intrigued by me and my bike. I keep feeling like there is something wrong with my rear hub as it doesn't engage as quickly as I expect after freewheeling; however, I've compared it to another bike which has exactly the same amount of movement, so maybe it is all in my head. Cassette seems to turn backwards as expected with no slack in the chain.

Meh, our (30-odd when with preschoolers) sons pretty much did the same due to careers. And you are just guessing. He's got the time. Well, for so long. 😉
