Always been a big classics fan, the mountainous stages never hold as much excitement for us as the ones for the heavy boys. That being said I thoroughly enjoyed yesterdays stage of the alp and look forward to watching todays stage, much relaxing scenery and so much less stress than the belgian races

Well today, with any luck, we will get to see the final few kms of this:

And the finish isn't too shabby, either.

My Man Tao rocking the cyclamen-coloured jersey. Covered by a jacket, weather not looking all that nice.

Sivakov and Jan Hirt, 1-2 on the stage and now 1-2 on GC, with Majka and Nibali some time behind.

TGH bags his second pro win of the week, out sprinting the increasingly impressive Nibali.
Majka bags the final bonus seconds, Sivakov 4th, while Froome heads home the chasing group for 5th.
The Sky youngsters now 1-2 on GC.
    Excellent watch, today. Fascinating stuff.

Another stage win for Tao GH, outsprinting Nibali and Majka with Sivakov also in the front quartet retaining the lead. TGH moves up to 2nd on GC.
Froome won the sprint in group 2 to come 5th.

Edit: And once again I'm outsprinted by Blazing. He does have sprinter's genes I suppose.

Thoroughly impressed with the two young Sky riders working well to keep Nibali and a frisky Majka under control, tactically that was superb

Good top see that Tao GH has been included in Sky's LBL team. He wasn't on the PCS startlist.

LBL is 100km longer than all the stages bar one of the Giro del Trentino.

    Rather different proposition, no?

I'm not looking at him to win it, but on current form it'll be good to see how he goes.

He twice finished on the podium in the u23 version.

Jesus, MyMan Tao worked his arse off for that. He was closing gaps for Sivakov most of the day, got dropped on the final climb but got back, then outsprints Nibali from a crazy distance. Chapeau!

Tour of the Alps ends today, with this beast topping out less than 30kms from the end...........and it's going to be a wet descent after that.

Looks like a done deal to me.
I'm not sure anybody fancies that final descent, with the Giro on the horizon.

Quality race. Wasn't expecting much, but partly due to Nibali constantly attacking it has been punching above its weight in terms of entertainment. Really good to see Froome putting in such big efforts as a team mate. Great example to set.

All in all that was a very good race.

The future Ineos team looks capable of completely surpassing the present Sky team.

As you were, with Nibali replacing Majka on the podium.
Savio has obviously sent his suits to the dry cleaners before the Giro. :P

Ineos for the 2022 Tour could be: Bernal, Sosa, Sivakov, TGH, Moscon, Kwiatkowski, Narvaez, Halversen, Current average age: 23

Good luck the rest of cycling.

That's an absurd line up. In the best way. Fair play to them, these young lads are showing they've got something about them. Good race that, Nibali's form seems to bode well for the giro as you know he's going to turn up to race

Still find it odd watching Tao Duke it out with likes of nibali. I used to ride round Essex with him!

You need to come good in the third to win the giro
