Jakobsen takes St 3 in Turkey. Cav on the podium - best result for a while.

Sam Bennett takes Tour of Turkey Stage 1.

    And Stage 2.

But what a bore fest, loads of blokes on a motorway, the "climbs" being an off ramp

Yesterday's finish was far from a motorway off ramp: narrow and quite technical, but that aside I'd have to agree.
Today's stage being the worst of the lot. Hopefully, the next two days will see the race leave these featureless motorways.

Nice to see Cav right up there with Jakobsen and Bennett. A pity that he had to sprint around that Argentinian bollard.

Anybody watch the Klondike GP on Eurosport player. It’s the first race in the British women’s race series,it looked a hard race based round Whitby with a finish in Guisborough. However the filming and commentary were absolutely awful.

The prospects for Turkye's one worthwhile stage don't look good.

I switched on the Tour of Turkey for a bit today, from approx 25km out.. now bear in mind that I am in hospital absolutely bored as hell (to the point where I'm looking forward to watching 6 hours of Amstel on Sunday). I turned Turkey off because it was literally two blokes riding down 3 lanes of motorway who had absolutely no interest in riding with one another. What a weak race

Julien Simone wins Finistere That means Tru Bro' Leon is round the corner

T'was on Eurosport a bit early.
Lovely course, some nice panache shown, but racing nous, not so much.

Turkey earlier was more like an episode of Ski Sunday, but the battle to decide the GC went ahead.
Felix Großschartner looks to have sewn up the Gc with his win, unless Valerio Conti can find 20 seconds riding around Istanbul.
Remco Evenepoel with much youthful enthusiasm, but none of the race craft that comes with experience looks likely to miss the podium by a single spot.

Good to see Cofidis win something, always like Tro Bro, looking forward to it.

Tao Geoghegan Hart takes his first pro win with stage 1 of the Tour of the Alps, after Nibali had blown the race to pieces on the nasty ramp, 15 kms from the finish.

A debut win for Tao G Hart in the Tour of the Alps. A good last 20km with lots of action. TGH winning from a group of about 15-20.

Froome also appears to have emerged from hibernation (finished 6th)

Loving the new Team Direct Energie kit, especially the white helmet/glasses combo that Gaudin is rocking. Connor Swift giving the stripes a good show too

I should correct what I said earlier. Gaudin second last year, behind the very in form at the time, Christophe Laporte.

Assuming these time gaps are right they're going to get caught very soon

And yes they're pretty much together with the chasers now.

Only 23s back to the peloton such as it is

FDJ working to close the gap but the group is working well up ahead, they've only knocked a handful of seconds off. Cat and mouse at the moment.

    That was Thomas Boudat.

Marc Sarreau being there isn't going to make group cooperation easy.

Sarreau marked himself out as the one to watch in those last couple of KMs, did far too much alongside Delage. Really nice little well timed move to win it

Was a decent race - lots of action right to the end. Worth the watch.
