Webbo's numb bum aside, I had Broccoli and Stilton soup with lashings of Tiger bread followed by rice pudding.

    Marvellous.

    Both home made?
    Yes.
I prefer my home made black currant jelly.

On a roll this week. Chicken stew and dumplings with warm crusty bread yesterday. Had some time today playing nurse for boy, so Roast chicken with all the trimmings today and made a meat pie for tomorrow with sautéed potatoes I boiled today.

    Would have saved me cooking.

Tonight it's beef in red wine and mushroom pie with puff pastry, mash and cabbage.

Midweek. Dhal & rice. Seasoning could have been more precise.

Will eat pasta but not generally my first choice. Made my one and only lasagne 20 years ago before my cooking skills had developed. Jamie Oliver easy lasagne with cottage cheese instead of bechamel sauce. Possibly the worst lasagne ever made.

    Ooh matron.

Never did like pancakes et al. So just a simple omelette using peppers, tomatoes and other assorted veges like wot the national clickbaiter 'news' purveyors say that there is a national shortage of... Just go to one's local Coop.

Fillet steak, brought to room temperature, Plenty of seasoning. Thyme, garlic and butter in the pan. Medium rare. 😋

Salmon and black pudding. Does that qualify as ‘surf & turf’?

Probably qualifies as a bit weird. Was that your recipe Seano?

That was me being too tired to go to the shops and using what I could find. Home before Mrs seano these days so end up cooking most nights. Don’t mind the cooking but trying to come up with different recipes that everyone likes gets tedious.

My concoction this evening is to be a beef curry cottage pie. Another one using up what leftovers can be found in the fridge.

    It does.
Off the op of my head, some meals we've had in the last couple of weeks:

Sausages in onion gravy with mash and cabbage

Floured Basa fillets sauteed with Pilaf rice followed by apple crumble

    Pork steaks, gravy and veg

Chunky, spicy, thick cream of Carrot and coriander soup with baguette followed by the rest of the apple crumble and ice cream

Smoked Mackerel, new pots. and sour cream, chives as garnish side salad

Smoked Parma ham and mushroom cheese sauce pasta bake, side salad

Crispy sauteed pot's, sausages and beans, side salad. Yep, the side salad worked!

Marinated spicy strips of chicken fried up with red pepper, mushrooms and sliced red onion chucked in at the last moment served on rice with sweetcorn to give it as much moisture as poss.

Cod with a slice of smoked ham on top, then a basic Neopolitan tomato sauce on top baked in the oven with sauteed pots, side salad. Great dish, easy to do and reasonably quick. Must cook the Rooster pots and drain and cool first to make them really light and crispy.

Vegetable curry and jeera rice, naan bread, beer.

    Any ideas welcome!

How long have you suffered from Veganitis?

3 years, 7 months, 11 days, 3 hours and 26 minutes not that I'm counting.

Gave up eating the 4 legged beasts 20 years ago, but the winged and finned ones suffered for longer. :)
I think I could give up meat but not fish and I certainly couldn't give up dairy produce.
Everything in moderation I say - I have cut down on red meat consumption hugely and I do make more and more vegetarian meals.
Blimey, how much red meat were you eating before.

Basa aka Vietnamese river cobbler is a contentious fish due to the fact it’s irresponsibly farmed in some of the most polluted rivers in Asia. Not that it means much, but the internet is rife with negative info about it. Enjoy :)

Pork schnitzel has been popular lately. Pork loin or boneless chop, trimmed of fat, pounded thin, seasoned, flour, egg, bread crumbs, served with a wedge of lemon. Reasonably cheap and easy. Do need to fry in a fair bit of oil though.
