    Cry hard.

A tragic tale of a wifey and a Turkey in a BMW, in a flood, just before Christmas.

Surely smashing up a Beemer is a case of mixed feelings, a bit like the proverbial MIL going off a cliff in your new Ferrari.

It was an orrible job. Next on the list is 3 floating shelves in the bedroom. They're big, solid wood ones and look a bit tricky without a couple of pairs of hands.

What's up with the sweetcorn on top of the chips? The chips will get soggy? There needs to be clear demarcation between food stuffs. The beans have also contaminated the chips.

    You’ve excelled 👍

Question 1: What’s the shepherds pie thingy?

2: are they dumpling on the stew or bread rolls?

3: is that a homemade pie?

    4: sweetcorn and beans!?

Ah. Grab adhesive plus 10mm doweling. Sticks like sh*t, not Gorilla grip as it expands a little and is messy.
Put the grab adhesive in the doweling holes too, use props while it sets.

    And/or braces:

Note the screw holes in the braces - into wall plugs which are also glued into the plasterboard.
Those shelves are a mixture of Walnut, Oak and Ash so heavy and support a lot of weight, as you can see.

I used a fine 3.5mm drill bit along a line I drew which I knew was going to be covered up by the shelf, drilled holes 1" apart to find at least one wooden framing upright. It would have worked without doing that but given the weight and glass...

Yarr, but these are floating shelves, so no braces. They are going in to brick though.

    1. Fish pie, with prawns, egg & peas
    2. Those are indeed dumplings on a slow cooked (overnight) beef stew - hairy bikers recipe
    3. Everything is homemade 100%
    4. Sweetcorn with everything if i had my way

never any extra butter esp. on bread

mixing foods on top they barely have a chance to merge as i'm a rapid eater, you have to see it to believe how quickly i can eat

Butternut squash today from that fella, made with butternut, carrots, red pepper, and an onion with vegi stock oh and a few small super hot chillis.

I've a lot more time these days so make batches of meals and freeze them in portions

Yes I think the soup I made could given enough time to set, won’t be making that again it takes too long and is expensive compared with the supermarket own version

Indonesian inspired dish of Tempe marinated in honey, soy sauce and chilies, stir fried with green beans, onion, garlic and ginger. Served with egg fried rice with some spring onions tossed in also.

Given I'm crackered after fighting the Conifer Wars all weekend, simples innit. Steak mince base, loads of veges (peppers, carrots, onions, garlic, mushrooms - raiding the fridge tbh), with chillis, chopped ginger, assorted spices, some soy, bung in some of the frozen summer excess cherry toms (Sungolds these) for added sweetness, serve with celeriac mash and a glass of Malbec. 👍

To be honest I was slightly surprised with your portion control but I didn’t want to say anything and look stupid in case it was well know that you cycled a Tour de France per week.

    Anyway. Pics next time please.

One of the benefits of the one meal a day diet is that meal can be huge and I don’t gain a lb

I’ve been doing it since first lockdown and have it nailed now, I’m not sure if it’s because everything is cooked fresh and 90% healthy foods or the time of day i eat is very early so I’m constantly in effect fasting, I’ve worked out 154lb and 10% body fat works for me, I’m light for climbing and have enough energy for long hard club rides (those were the days). As for cycling I did well over 8000 miles last year and my goal is 9000 this year, in fact this week I’ve increased time on bike from 8-10 hours to 9-11 hours, food intake will be adjusted accordingly.
