why don't you get a huuuuuge plastic dog cone and wear it around your waist - you can then collect all your sweat and drink that.

    re-cycling innt.

MF's suggestion, not mine so don't have a pop at me.

    @the OP.

I think I've given you options, others have too. There has been enough ideas already.

Can I suggest that since you're not happy with a lot of the posts you take the advice you think is good or positive and leave this thread to those who want to prolong it. Assuming you don't actually want to prolong it yourself of course.

You'll not get any advice better than what you've had from some of us that answered your question. Can I suggest that if you leave this thread alone it will die like it really should have done already?

Enough already! Shut up everyone! Let the thread die!

It takes 160 days for a bidon to be stolen from a bike left out in NYC.

Everyone knows that anything not tied down is likely to be nicked. I have experience of LIFE.
I suggest bringing a length of twine in order that you can tie down the bottles when you leave your bike.

I've left my bike and bottles outside today, unlocked as per usual. Just went for a check on them and the bottles are still there.

I used bladders for entire day trips on hot sunny days and they DO NOT warm up.........
In that case you either have insulated or magic bladders as that is not the experience of anyone else on here that uses bladders. I have done all day rides with a camelback. I start at 7am with ice and water, by midday the water is cooler than air temperature but significantly warmer than it was. Granted, normal bottles warm up a lot faster though. But insulated bottles that do not warm up have been suggested. Admittedly you either chose to ignore that suggestion or dismissed it.
Nobody is forcing you to do anything, lots of people have suggested alternatives that are sufficient for the vast majority of the population. You are the only one getting wound up here, that is what is perpetuating this thread. If you didn't bite and get stroppy this would have died a long time ago.
I fully expect you to slag me off for posting this, don't worry I won't throw my toys out of the pram over it.

I can't quite see how someone who spends their free time visiting old castles and interesting sites by bike can work themselves up in to such a lather over people on the internet suggesting solutions that they don't like.

    It's like polar opposites.

The water in my rucksack bladder warms up (with the heat from my back), whereas the water in the hose stays cool, or cold on a cold day.
The Wife complained for months about the empty pot of bike oil on the hall stand; so I replaced it with a full one.

Please Chimera2018 call someone a c*nt so you can get banned and put us all out of our misery. I actually find myself missing the simple days of Frank Wilson's denial and Matthewfalle's bizarre acid trip inside his mind.

I blame the 'New posts' option at the top, in the old days nobody would have looked at this.

A pub !?? Don't be silly now. EVERYONE knows they're always closed and it's impossible to get a drink there.

I read it on the internet.

14:51: update, bike and water bottles have been outside all day unsecured. So far neither have been nicked, although there’s a shifty looking pigeon around who might be up to something.

The pigeon is obviously acting as a spotter for a Russian water bottle crime syndicate, responsible for the theft of millions of water bottles each year. I would call the police right now...

Richborough Caste for a start, and Buckingham Old Gaol (yes I know that's in a town.....). That's what I have in mind atm.

For the record, something I haven't mentioned is that I've been thinking of combining two of tours in the book to form one long tour of aprox 80 miles.

Richborough Castle. Don't they have a moat?

It's been a hectic few days, and now we are left in limbo. I'm going for counselling, I wonder if they'll have a water machine there
