can't see PP be worried about that.

bang in 4 then pull 11 behind the ball.

I don't care. I've had to put up with too much sh1t from German friends about football, I just want Germany dumped out in the 1st round.

Just come in from a ride, lovely quiet roads 8) , and put tv on to see result

Guessing that according to tomorrow's papers, they might as well engrave the cup now and we can all go home

Surprised they've gone ahead with this Japan Senegal game.
They may as well play out the fixtures I suppose.

Think it confirmed what most people felt; England are a decent team going forward (if quite reliant on set pieces) and a bit shaky at the back.

    But bloody hell, 6-1.

England were sh1te in the first 10 minutes, very wobbly, messing things up. A few minutes like that against a good team would have seen them pay for that for sure.

England came out half asleep, and were playing like they'd already been on the pitch in 30 degree heat for an hour. Once they gave themselves a slap they started playing as they should, luckily before they paid for it. Panama were just bloody awful and scoring 6 against them was sort of meeting expectations nothing else, it was nothing special.

Southgate said as much at the end.

On the positive, they should have a bit of confidence (as the team is generally full of players who are thick and they will take it they are on form when all they've actually done is thrash an awful team), that and whatever happens against Belgium won't matter now.

Plenty of time now to get a false sense of security, especially if the Belgium game is plain reasonable, but we'll see if they get woken up in shock in the first knockout game. Hope not of course, but shall see.

Let's hope for a good Belgium game, if they dominate that then it will be fair to comment on their form then. Panama 6-1 means naff all.

I wouldn't say it means naff all - if France, Germany or one of the other favourites smacked a minnow 6-1 we'd think that was at least some evidence of form.

After a refreshingly low hype / low expectation build up predictably the media are now making up for lost time and talking about the cup 'coming home' again. What is it with sport, and football in particular, in the UK that a team has to either be no hopers or nailed on winners? The reality in my eyes is that England are looking fairly decent if maybe over-reliant on Kane and shaky at times in defence and a semi-final is looking a realistic possibility, after that who knows? Some of the usual suspects are looking poor in comparison but that can easily change and then there are teams like Belgium and Nigeria who could perform better than their usual level.

This exactly and with the observation that this very poor panama team cut straight through England defences on multiple occasions. The score is to be applauded but the quality of England defence less so. I'm not excited yet.

As mentioned earlier, expectations need to be managed and England have not really played anyone of note yet. However, I did expect us to beat Tunisia and Panama and they have (which is a significant step as far as England football goes!) So far so good and any win would have done for me yesterday. Radio 5, predictably given over to wall to wall coverage and speculation this morning. Beat Belgium and my expectation could go up a notch.

Belgium have already confirmed that they are putting out their second team - resting Lukakukukukukukuku and Hazard amongst others. They confirmed it before the England game.

But yes, agree completely - England haven't really beaten anyone of note in a real game for about 4 years, so hold onto to those expectations.

Then again, everyone of note - Brazil, Germany, France, Argentina - have all been playing rubbish, so anything could happen really.

It'll still be a PP vs Belgium final though ...............................

Putin's Pups having a rest day? Or just meeting a real team for the first time?

Meanwhile Saudi Arabia get there first goal of the tournament (is that first ever WC goal?)

Only three teams yet to score at this tournament.

Russia looking distinctly average against Uruguay. I'll agree Belgium have got a good chance of getting to the finals though.

FTFM - world cup winners don't usually lose 3-0 in the group stages.

Having a rest day - already qualified I believe so why try?

Rest and coming out winning in a week or so.

Pp have too much to lose not to win it. Pride, families, homes, bank balances, all references to them, etc etc etc
