Landa only moved this season didn’t he?

Yep. Moved to be a leader in GTs and instead ended up in pro-cycling's equivalent of Lord of the Flies.

Landa signed a two year deal with Movistar, so if he is to move someone will have to buy out his contract first. I can't see Movistar letting him go to be honest, whilst his Tour was disappointing, he's still set to finish 7th. If they actually deployed their resources wisely, he's a good bet for a podium finish in a GT.

I think he’s their best hope going forward. Quintana has been out of sorts for a couple of seasons and Landa looks the more rounded rider for the Tour in particular. If I ran Movistar I’d make him number 1 and build a team around him. Is Quintana mid contract too?

Yes, Quintana has another year at Movistar too. As does Valverde. And Soler.

Let's hope they've learnt a lesson from this year and don't bring all four to the Tour next year.

I can see Movistar letting Landa go at a price, he is competent but also too placid, a different version of Quintana. I think they should build around Soler, even if that means a couple of years wait.

    :-(

Hope the riders get picked up soon. Some of the new teams like Sunweb and Michelton Scott will help build the future.

    We'll miss the Wiggles !

Rochelle Gilmour suggests she's open to offers on a romantic front if anyone is keen to hook up with a driven professional.

ELB to move to Trek. She's trodden water a bit this year when she should have been progressing to the very highest levels and clearly the Giro Rosa wasn't as successful as she might have hoped. She's over in Sestrieres training for the end of season at the moment.

how do I get in contact with Rochelle to ask her out :D

How can I get in contact with Rochelle to explain the benefits of dating a imperfect but lovable Beta who spends a little too much time talking about cycling on the internet rather than doing it..?
We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Difficult choice but if I were Quintana I'd point at my palmares, not just grand tours but 1 week races in comparison to Landa's. I don't think Landa has had a better season than Quintana ever.

Weird video. I’ve come to beautiful Majorca, put on my best togs and filmed a glossy (self) promo video to tell all of you at Wiggle You’re being made redundant because I’m single and I never get to go to weddings like normal folk. Most odd.

    What a strange video.
Here's how many more people we are going to make redundant than if we'd folded after a year.

And what a strange looking woman. Has she had facial surgery? A cycling accident, perhaps?

Think she lives in Majorca. And agree looks like she's hammered the botox. Saw her with the riders outside the team bus at the end of the Vuelta last year (after the Women's race). Always appears to dress up to the nines which was a bit of a contrast.

Even weirder that she refers to everyone and everything as "we have"
Surely it should be "we had".

Massive shame that they aren't carrying on.
However, as long as Macey Stewart and Amy Cure keep sticking stuff on Instagram, I'm happy.

Agreed. I like Porte but his time has come and gone, I'm afraid.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Yes I think she did suffer facial scarring in an accident so she may just wear a lot of makeup to cover it or perhaps she's had skin grafting i don't know.

She's telling people what the team currently comprises, so that people will a) understand what the team folding will actually mean, b) if they want to buy it what they will be getting and c) what she has managed to achieve in the face of a sport that really doesn't give a rat's testicle about women's cycling.

As for the comments on her appearance. Can women just not be successful without people having to comment on their appearance. So blooming predictable.

"The facial hair is just. Ugh. No. Looks like a sleazy leg humper in a camp site disco."
Your view of Alaphilippes appearance. I'm all for equality, but lets have some parity too.

As for the video it would have been more credible if some of the team were with her and she wasn't dressed for a night out.

Transfers can be announced from August 1st. So new signings will start trickling through.

Meanwhile a list of Stagiaires: https://caferoubaix.com/2018/07/31/2018-stagiaires/

I noticed Ethan Hayter and Mark Donovon at Sky, Brayan 'brother of' Chaves at Mitchelton and Cyrus Monk at EF - surely this is a 90s action movie character.

    Katusha-Alpecin - Kenny Nijssen

Personally very curious to see how he goes. Won a Dutch power to weight turbo trainer competition to get the ride. I race against him a lot over here, he is nearly see through he's that thin, max 50kg I suspect. Amazing in the mountains, 'won' the Marmotte (like Ten Dam did to get noticed I think?) a couple of years ago. I do think he will get blown away within the peloton unless its going up a mountain all the time.
