    No, no, no, no. no!!
Why are you suggesting such low value, trashy tv fodder?!! It's incredible how we have 500+ channels and feeds to choose from yet all we get is these low value tv pap for the brain. I was just thinking last night as I flicked through endless dross that none of it appealed to me. None. Call it nostalgia but when we had far less choice we had better programming and stuff was made that people actually wanted to watch. Now it's just stuff to pass the time with.

Yep, the vast majority is mindless drivel. I tend to view select youtube channels that I find interesting now.

The strange thing Is I'm still of the TV generation. I find myself gravitating towards it, but the yoooofffffff. It's all about net content for the vast majority of them.

Ohhh, time waits for no person of various genders.
I remember people saying that kids weren’t watching TV anymore a good decade or so ago. At the time our kids definitely still were and I tended to disagree. (Very much like Jeans are always going out of fashion).

However, a decade or so later, none our 3 kids watch TV at all and I am getting ever closer to ditching our Virgin broadband and TV package for broadband only.

Only kept it last time for recording and the mrs. I hardly record anything now, mainly on demand content.

Yes, thing have changed a lot with regards entertainment.

A great fight back from Mcilroy (64!), to get second.

Still liking Crimson rivers, though churches and churchy religious people do seem to feature very frequently.

Halfway though 'Inside' starring Noémie Schmidt, who reminds me of Emma Watson.
Really well written imho, and well worth a watch - only 6 episodes.

HBO’s Tokyo vice. High quality series based on Jake Adelstein’s true story of becoming the first foreign born reporter to work for Japans largest news company and his unhealthy interest in the Yakuza. Great cast and excellent viewing with 3 episodes so far.

The Lost Kingdom S5 on Netflix

I have a soft spot for this

When Men were Men and Women were wenches. Saxons and Danes and Honour and treachery. Like Game of Thrones before it was ruined, albeit with less skin...

Finished The Curse recently, based loosely on the Brinks Mat robbery in the early 80s.

Top drawer, very well scripted, acted and filmed - anyone who has 3 hours to spare and wanting some good entertainment would be well advised to watch this.
Be warned, after the last program, you may end up with Christopher Cross in your head for some time :#

Me too although I think it’s quality has slipped a bit since the BBC did what the BBC tends to do these days with it’s best drama and Netflix had to go it alone.
I am hanging onto series 5 as it wasn’t so long ago that I watched series 4.

Meanwhile, as mentioned by Daniel, series 2 of The Hunter begins on C4 this Sunday.
Hopefully the remaining episodes will be available for download on Sky, avoiding All4’s ad breaks.

Trying out The SA police drama: “The Cane Field Killings”.
Not sure how I feel about it after one episode.

Not sure either, the main character is a mess, surprised she can hold down a job tbh.

Stumbled upon ‘Those who kill’ by chance. 10 year old Danish serial killer drama but still plenty gruesome and unsettling. 12 episodes all available on BBC iplayer with two newer connecting series, ‘Those who kill blind’ & ‘Those who kill darkness’ also available. Better than the Walter presents Scandi noir offerings of late.

Time I owned up to the fact that I didn’t find s2 anywhere near as good as s1.

However I think s3 is a fine return to form. Storylines are varied but the underlying improvement is the fact they are more straightforward procedural and therefore engrossing.

Ha, yes I thought the same thing actually, series 2 was a low point, but being 3 episodes into series 3, I agree it has picked up.
The first episode threw me a bit being a 90 minute 1 episode one, not sure why they did that.

The Hunter is so good I am saving for the rare occasions when I can actually sit down to enjoy fine television, as opposed to just watching it whilst on the turbo :D

Slow horses. British spy drama on Apple TV (can be found by nefarious means elsewhere) staring Gary Oldman and Kristen Scott Thomas, both excellent as always. 6 episodes, ticks along nicely and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Worth a watch.

Some totally awful adaption of Romeo & Juliet on Sky Arts right now...

Quite how people think we need them when Baz Lurhman showed how to do a modern remake and make the dialogue work nearly 30 years ago i don't know.

(I suspect it's for schools and you can't show the film to the little kiddies like you could in the 90s these days... Dear Daily Mail, I was shocked and appau.....)

Good to know. I thought it had finished at half time and was disappointed. 😣
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

"We are Ladyparts" on All 4.

Mostly great although I thought the final episode (of 6) was not as good as it could have been.

The wife started watching The English Game the other night. Didn't think it would be my thing, a period drama by Julian Fellowes, but was actually quite decent.

I learned a bit about Victorian football, when there was a 5 all draw and talk of playing 6 up front I assumed it was Fellowes not knowing much about football but apparently it was very much all out attack back in those days.

Just started watching The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix. I'm on episode 2 and pretty good so far. It's based on the Brass Verdict, second book in Michael Connelly's Mickey Haller series. Haller is the half brother of Harry Bosch although apparently that isn't the case in this series as Prime has the Bosch rights. Storyline seems quite close to the book plot, as I remember it, so far.

It went straight on my to watch list.
Still have a couple of series of Bosch to watch and now there’s Legacy on veefree or whatever IMDb is called now. I actually prefer the Haller books.

Also I watched The English Game last month and enjoyed it.
Not that much football in it tbh.

Somewhat biased of course, the street I lived in as child was in the background of one of the scenes, but that last episode of Derry Girls was brilliant TV

BBC keep trailing Beck, saying all episodes available on iPlayer. We can only see series 7 and 8 which we're in the process of wading through (not always in the right order because they are all lumped together and not numbered)

Any idea where we can find the first 6 series?

Although the French original 10%/Call My Agent is sheer unadulterated joy, the NFs cannot in any shspe or form tecommend yhe faeces that is the newly released English version.

Shiteshiteshite apslling badly acted badly scripted car crash of a plagiarised format. Appalling.

Can you unrecommend a programme enough?

If Brexit/the Tory party was a tv programme, this would be it.

It's not plagiarism when it's a sanctioned and paid for adaptation.

But I watched episode one and it was pretty boring. And then the guy who might have made it watchable died.

The first 8 episodes are available to stream on freevee.

Not sure where to look for the other, early series.
