Agree with the Killing Eve comments and gave up with it.
Just noticed Picard season 2 is starting on Friday (Amazon P).
Season one was plain boring, so I'm hoping for better. Surely intergalactic space travel shouldn't really be boring.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge needed to kill it off before she left. Since then it's just been a rubbish tribute act.

See The Office, The Young Ones etc

Currently watching Hunted (series 2) and have previously watched Hiest. Like anyone watching these I find myself thinking what I would do but the programmes frustrate me as the producers obviously make them do stupid things to risk them getting caught and I want to see who can genuinely avoid being caught.

Also, the editing annoys me "here's what I think they'll do next" and lo and behold the next thing you know that is exactly the stupid move they make.

Still find them strangely addictive to watch though.

The contestants have rules included in their contracts such as having to move every night and probably visiting a relative. I don't mind this as otherwise it would be easy to disappear, but I wish they would just be open about it.

Yeah, it's annoying. I assume they are also told they have to make contact with specific people at various points. The one that really bugs me is that when they have been successful for 4 weeks they have to get to a certain point which is then obviously given to the hunters. Conversely it seems pretty obvious that the useless ones get tipped off if their strategy is about to get them caught too early.

I don't believe that is true, but the lack of openness about the rules means that people will no doubt think it is the case.

The Billion Dollar Code on Netflix tells the story of how the algorithm behind Google Earth (launched in 2005), can be traced back to Berlin 1995.

Maybe it's been mentioned before, but This is Going to Hurt on BBC is really very good.

At the risk of being accused of being a snowflake, or adding spoilers, I'd say if either you or your partner has had a bad experience on a maternity delivery suite or are expecting to be in one soon, I'd maybe give it a miss.

When the tone changes it does so quite dramatically

Mrs Laurentian is a midwife of 20 odd years with the NHS and has her own private business giving hypnobirthing and pregancy yoga classes. On her social media she has, along with other midwives, discouraged expectant parents from watching this.

    I quite enjoyed it though

Not convinced by Joe Cole, might give it a miss.

Currently watching both Reacher and Dopesick.

    [...]

Dopesick is both excellent and disturbing. Lots of concurrent stories means there are loads of gaps to fill yourself and yet it is so well crafted it works.

+1 on Dopesick, and the above assessment. It's incredible how the human misery goes in crescendo, while deep inside you know it can get worse.

If what they said about linear vs log graphs is true, there was at least one big mofo knowingly lying left right & centre from day 1. I just wonder, though, someone within Purdue in drug development must have known what the company was doing. Were they all fired with NDA's? Did the case mostly rely on leaked marketing material?

The stupid thing is, they clearly had a very effective drug.
The downside was it being extremely addictive. That they managed to not only avoid recognising the addictiveness but successfully market it as non-addictive was just staggering.

The Stanley Tucci Italian food programme, the name of which I don't recall, is a fabulous looking programme

I just want to go to Italy now

That sounds excellent - I will check it out. My brother has lived in Italy for a good many years now, and unsurprisingly is in the process of gaining citizenship, or their equivalent, which I assume will also encompass a proper EU passport.

I rather like the programs that the architect Francesco da Mosto puts out - he's very Italian, and has a great presentation style.
A bit like a male, italian version of the phenomenal Lucy Worsley.

Way behind the curve with this one, but some turbo sessions have allowed me to start watching The Tourist.
Only 2 episodes in so far, but finding it very enjoyable so far - the main bloke Jamie someone, I have only seen in The Fall, but in this he reminds me a lot of Euan McGregor, both in terms of looks, but also mannerisms and acting style.

Also watched episode 1 of the last Killing Eve series - it was ok, nothing outstanding, presumably episode 2 will ratchet things up a fair bit.

Yep, worth sticking with. The female lead is the person who plays Freddie Mercury's girlfriend in Bohemian Rhapsody (and is Remi Malik's partner in real life I believe).

Series 1 was good, can't remember how the second series went but I wouldn't get too excited about the 3rd series. I'm not bothering with the 4th.

I think it got progressively worse, but maybe they will turn it around for this final series.
