Red Dwarf always is worth a watch. Just been going through series 3 onwards.

Slight issue is that I didn't know it was supposed to be about climate change until I read the graun review. I thought it was more about Covid...

I think there's all sorts chucked in there. Climate change seems obvious, probably not intentional but there's Brexit connotations in there, the initial "wait and see" feels like a big dig at the Trump / Johnson type reaction to Covid and then there's the Bezos / Musk character. The "don't look up" stuff is very old-school American sledgehammer subtle satire of Trump and his base.

Thanks for the reminder. Haven't seen it for years, and £20 for series 1-8 is decent value, so have taken a punt.

Not so sure about the later series but 1-6 were great fun. Found them on Sky Gold.

Not very original, but I've been watching Peep Show again. For me, it's one of the best comedy series ever screened. It has stood the test of time well. Love all the characters- Super Hans, Johnson, Toni, Dobbie , Big Suze, Gerard, Elana -the list goes on.

Yeah, vague memories that it ran out of steam a bit later on, so 1-8 will do - it's still 24 hours-worth of trumpet practice entertainment.

Just started on ‘Lupin’ on Netflix. 3 episodes of Part 1 in and we are all hooked. Very different being French and we are watching it with subtitles rather than the dubbing which I always finds detracts from the original. Well worth a watch.

It's an enjoyable bit of nonsense. The lead actor (Omar Sy) has a charismatic screen presence, I'd be surprised if he didn't go on to bigger roles.....depending I suppose on how good his English is

I've been enjoying the adaption of 80 Days Around the World...perfect Xmas family viewing. They should have released an episode every evening though.

Just finished The Shield (IMDB TV). Really rate it. Great action (non-stop), great camera work (Shaky cam) and superb acting. It takes a grim, no holes barred look at police corruption and criminal gangs in LA.

Having finished Clarkson's Farm, I thought I'd try James May's Japan on my Amazon Prime. Lasted about 10 minutes. Yawn.

Seasonal Beatings is an amazing episode - Mark completely losing it at Jez when he thinks he’s forgotten the turkey - comedy gold!

Finished Breaking Bad, I know I'm years behind but was well worth the watch. I found myself trying to work out at which point my sympathy for WW went although he's never particularly likeable.

Started on Better Call Saul now

I love Better Call Saul more than I live BB. It’s got such a wonderfully serene pace and so cinematically filmed it’s beautiful. His brother is such an a-hole though. Always wondering at what point he’s going to screw up though.
Absolutely love Better Call Saul - can’t wait for the next series, hopefully Bob Odenkirk has fully recovered. His brother was a piece of work - it took me ages to realise I was watching David St Hubbins!

Watched the first two and enjoyed them, I've never watched any other versions so don't really know the story. I hoped they'd release the whole lot on iPlayer in one go but unfortunately not.

Upon your recommendation I have just started watching episode 1, having done the unusual these days and recorded the show.
Then I made the mistake of checking out the reviews on IMDb.
    It hasn’t fared well.
Nevertheless I am reserving my judgement.
I am finding some of the music is very reminiscent of Sherlock. That was composed by John Barry’s Bond replacement, David Arnold.
I once again checked IMDb but no, it’s some bloke named…….. Hans Zimmer.

If watching Don't Look Up there are a couple of extra bits during the credits that could be easily missed. They're slightly amusing and if you've sat through the rest you may as well stay with it.

Give it another go when your boredom threshold is a bit higher, non taxing easy viewing.

    It's not the definitive version

That is probably because Hans Zimmer has involved in it (also did the music for Sherlock).

I found it enjoyable too, it isn't perfect, but probably the best adaption I have seen so far.

I had noticed this, so I checked to see when episode 3 was scheduled on tv - it’s not.
All episodes are available on demand on Sky.

Much more than some bloke. Check out his bio. Diverse, to say the least.

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I was going to say that was my only previous reference, I can't remember much other than the theme tune which was stuck in my head all the time whilst watching the new series.

If it’s not too late, I’d give the BB one-off sequel El Camino a miss. On its own it was ok, but wasn’t a patch on the BB finale and diminished the legacy.

BB remains my all time favourite, I did a few ‘Better Call Saul’ but didn’t really get me enthused. Maybe I’ll try again soon, because I’m not really finding much else on Netflix or iplayer now.
Loved The Bridge and Spiral, but I need a break from neurodivergent euro detectives & murder.

Just a little bit jealous that a young drummer who was in one of my ensembles got to play in his orchestra for a world tour and frequently gets comments from him on her Facebook profile.

    She is bloody good though.

Watched the first couple of episodes of Outlaws, partly as I like working out where in Bristol they are filming and partly as my daughter's job until recently was supervising community payback schemes. I was expecting a slightly entertaining, silly comedy but it actually has a bit more to it than that, will keep watching.

Currently starting the 3rd episode. Much, much more than I was expecting, which was a slightly entertaining, silly comedy as well.
