Bah. Eurosport is sticking in video mode. Would let me fast forward to about an hour before the end. Will try again tomorrow.

Yeah, the whole stage was compressed into the last 600m.

Like all bar Uran's win then.

This one tedious tour. I'm following the Lanterne Rouge thread in Po Face. The back of the field race is much more interesting.

    TdF boring?
    Surely it was ever thus?
The only really interesting bit of any race is the end. Just like watching a marathon or 10,000m race at the Olympics. Watching athletes, albeit supremely fit athletes, pedal or run along for hours can be pretty tedious.
    There, I've said it.

The race may have been 200KM yesterday but the last 500meters were watchable.

SKY should dump Froome asap, he's a spent force and no one ever liked him. Grab Simon Yates at any cost and get him on the juice.

Is he betterer than Geraint Thomas?

The way Geraint Thomas blew when he lost the yellow Jersey, I'd say yes. And Thomas hadn't been spending the day towing Froome either.

    More potential, I would say.

Cycling needs a new Pantani, but not an ugly one, like Aru.

SKY would get an extra 10% from Yates but it's irrelevant as he'd never join them.

Agreed. What's the story with Landa? He going?

in the post race interview was froome really wearing a yellow nose ring, or was it simply some nostril embiggening widget?

i was waiting for a hand to reach out of the crowd and tear it off as he's no longer in yellow

Your eyes did not deceive you. Maybe he shoud've had a rope running from it to Landa's bike.

I noticed that too. Wtf? It didn't seem to do much embiggening. Is he peaking for the third week? I had the feeling Landa was just rolling his eyes as he towed an increasingly knackered Froome up the final climb.

This week "should" be all about Thursday, and hopefully an attack on Friday to those with tired legs.

Tired French legs going for glory on Bastille day perhaps. Then today and tomorrow, they'll be resting up at the back of the peloton in anticipation of the effort.
100%. Well, 95%. The exception being Bardet.
    Today, sprinters. Again. Tomorrow, GC.
Should have put a double on that!

How not to win a sprint - go too early and lead out your opponents a la Fagnini.

Barclays ad on ES. Ginger haired woman, call centre thing

Why was Landa working on the front of a group that had Aunty Nairo in? Why didn't he just sit at the back?

Is it putting pressure on Aru and his team from 2 angles? Landa could theoretically be in the mix?. Come the Alps, we'll see how that tactic plays out.

Landa had a chance of yellow. Froome made sure Landa didn't do to him like he did to Wiggins. Keep him in his place. Especially as he is off to another team soon. Trek?

    FTFY.

EBH seems to have recovered from his SKY years.

The French are looking good for a TdF winner in the next 5 years. Keep an eye on Guillaume Martin. You heard it from me first.
