There are at least 8 uncatagorised climbs before the 4 catagorised climbs still too come.

Have you ridden all three? Genuinely interested in where it ranks alongside the Flandrian classics.

I've ridden all three and would say it's at least as hard. It's in a sportive called the Ronde van Calderdale and there's 2 cobbled climbs on that that I can think of which are more difficult than Shibden, old lane and Trooper Lane which is beyond belief.

more difficult  hells teeth even the pros looked to be grinding to a halt on Shibden, theres no way Id make it up that :)

Its worth a look at trooper lane on Google images

Crowds remind me of those TdF days in 2014. Fantastic turnout.

The good people of Yorkshire have done the county proud I think.
Now how about making this a 5 day race?

Break at 2'25" or thereabouts, peloton looks to be speeding up a bit. Sky and dimension data on the front.

    66km to go

Groenewegen has his suffering face on at the back of the bunch. Dida, Sky and Direct Energie driving the pace.

Just back from watching as they swept through Birstal. The crowds were amazing. But more of a general crowd than a cycling one. For instance the guy behind me said "those guys at the front have such a lead they'll win easily"

Joe Public will be too busy discussing Wiggins been banned for taking drugs to notice those 3 aren't there.

^yeh, but I was more making the point that the novelty will wear off if they don't recognise anyone.

A great finish, but have to say that overall, the sheer difficulty of the stage made it less of a racing spectacle than we had in the two previous editions.

No not quite. But was close with his bonus seconds.

That chase group was typical of a load of guys who don't win bike races.
