oh G, give up the GT shiz

    You're a Classics guy

    You know it

It's so frustrating. Unfortunately he gets decent enough results in one week stage races and managed to hold on so long at the Tour that it seems to give him continued belief. Maybe he doubts his ability to win a really big one dayer and is happier in the more controlled environment of stage racing but I really hope he has a change of heart soon.

Froome is on March 2013 level , i think he will win TdF comfortably but he will be bad in Vuelta

i think he messed up his prep a little, to much ahead of the curve for the double

He's probably at the same level he usually is at Catalunya - it's just that the course suits his (and his team's) talents more than previous courses.

Haven't seen someone ride away from class of the likes of Bert and Froome that easily for a few years.....
Contador yes, Bertie has donea bit of racing this year already, Froome uses this race as a training ride, he looks almost fat.

How boring would race have been of Rojas had resisted touching his teammates' bottoms?

Conversely, how interesting would certain races become if Rojas couldn't resist touching his teammates' bottoms...?
  • Soler's strenght is mental

Gaudu did the business - he's going to be phenomenal in his generation. He looks like a lot of this generation of French rider rolled into one - Bardet/Pinot with three sugars

whatever Valverde's err natural state - he rode that last 2 km with some panache - he just seems to get the gear spot on

I assume you mean by this, that everybody has gone up the road, while Team Sky and Froome have been caught with their pants down, once again.
Will they ever learn, I wonder?

    Landa has climbed off.

TDP are live and Sky are 13 minutes 20 seconds behind the rest.
    Hors delay on the cards.

Snow by the side of the road. Looks like it is mostly flat / descent remaining.

Di Marchi and Cataldo have attacked. 12km to go. No time gap.

Less than 10s I'd say. Doesn't look like they will make it. 10km to go

Impey frm Piti as the escapees messed around for 5 secs too long

Impey takes it on the line from Valverde. Cataldo and Di Marchi were caught just before the line - 50/100 m or so. They messed around too much.

Matt Stephens tipped Impey from a long way out.

The problem with Sky is that never try to initiate moves like this. If they did then even if it didn't work then at least they wouldn't be caught out.

Most of the team scraped inside the time cut, but about 50 riders (including little Pete and Talansky) who finished about a minute and a half later, have been sent packing.

That's a positive development for those that like the time cuts to be enforced.

Tell you what, I don't particularly like him as a person, but the consistent quality performances that Valverde churns out year after year is pretty amazing.

    Outrageously good.

Let down by an inability to ride above 1800m.
