Probably a sign that things aren't going to plan for him. Hopefully this is a tactic on his side to create uncertainty within the allies as to how much support for Ukraine is too much. Also hopefully he is trying to appear delusional for the same reason rather than actually being totally deluded...rick_chasey said:Putin threatening nukes on nato

That's a worrying point as the ones you say may be more rational and normally close to him may not be getting their message across.rick_chasey said:He’s apparently literally very isolated. Won’t let many people within 10 feet. Etc

How much autonomy does he have? If he wanted to go for the literal nuclear option would it require others to go through with it?0

We'd enforce sanctions against oligarchs, but what about the football fans?

Is oryx a reliable source? I see a lot of vids of destroyed Russian vehicles but it's hard to know what's new, what's real etc.rick_chasey said:

No one is particularly reliable. They have indeed doen this for other wars. I tend to look at the stuff that is recurring to get a sense.pangolin said:

I refuse to look at anything pro Russian so I have no idea about Ukrainian losses whatsoever.
There is a sense the ruskies are losing a surprising amount of kit and troops.
It’s still small fry though, unfortunately

I am very cynical about this truce.
A) Soviets had a habit of are ging peace negotiations and kidnapping the opposition leaders when they turn up
B ) Russians using the time to reposition and stock up0 -
Ideally we need a way out for Putin.
It’s unlikely we can get rid of him, so if he can get out an save face we should work on it (though clearly not giving up an inch of Ukrainian ground)0 -

I know somebody who used to fly fast jets and he was amazed that the anoraks knew where he had been stationed, where he was going and his real name. They even used to email him goos pics they had takenthegreatdivide said:
LAGER and NACHO are the call signs for American tankers based at Mildenhall (their other call sign is QUID - oh those Yanks and their sense of humour). They will be there to tank NATO fighter jets and the surveillance aircraft. I know from following recent movements that a lot of US jets have been forward based in Poland and Romania. They’re 100% not there to strike into Ukraine, more they are there as a ‘don’t f@cking think about it Putin’ move.orraloon said:Intriguing site that.
