Monday might be interesting*. They've got to show something to their people.

*Interesting as in hopefully not much left. I fear they will try to send a message.

If I'm reading it right, they plan to do a parade in Mariupol... interesting...
Does look like it according to new sources. I think they've got a lot of tidying up to do. And as already mentioned, could be a good opportunity for Ukrainian forces.

I think a lot of people have realised that the Russian military had a rep which they have shown they don't deserve.
    Yup - agree 200%

it's generally gone from ,"oooh, don't mess with them to "well, they're a bit turbowank"

even their SF/Spetsnaz lads are coming across as a bit, well, merde, tbh.

I’m no military strategist etc, etc…but it looks like the UF are making solid gains in the North East, tying up a load of RF, the hardcore Ukrainian JFO are hanging in in the Donbas but taking a hell of a shelling, meanwhile the UF are starting to creep in from the Mykolaiv direction. Could the latter be trying to somehow cut off Crimea? If they could take out a section of the Crimea bridge they could seriously isolate the Russians.

Wishful thinking probably, but we’ll see.

Meanwhile it’s a race to get the new heavy armour to the UF.

UF are pretty hsndy plus they have full logistical and intel backing from NATO and there are a lot of errrr, instructors and advisors down there maybe giving them a hsnd

The Russians are merde, poorly supplied, poorly led with low morale. Its a real shame they're getting smashed tbh - couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

It’s quite incredible that the UF have their Turkish supplied drones pretty much hovering round that island, and as soon as the Russians bring in replacement defences the UF blow it up and there’s nothing the Russians can do. The latest video is a helicopter arriving, offloading troops and then it’s immediately blown up. They’re just sending people to their deaths. Tw4ts.

Yes, this is a video of people dying, but you know what, the absolute misery these idiot horrors are inflicting on the Ukrainian people has numbed me to their suffering.

From what we've seen of the military it's somewhat of a relief that there is now an alternative way to get to the ISS.

I've been thinking the same the longer this goes on. There's no difference between what Russia is doing to Ukraine and what the Nazis inflicted on their neighbours. And we should hate Putin even more for our numbness to the deaths of Russians.

As António Guterres said the other week, the fact that this is going on in the 21st Century is utterly tragic.

There's already been lots of 'unexplained' incidents over the border. Fires, explosions, etc. Fair game, IMO...

I see the Red Square air force display has been cancelled due to weather conditions.

The weather in question appears to be 4mph wind and a chance of light rain. I guess they didn't pay the extra to get waterproof paint for the planes.

Quite hard to actually fly polystyrene planes in airshows.

Latest figures from Oryx of Russian tank losses. These are visually confirmed numbers - so actual losses could be much higher.

    Tanks (635, of which destroyed: 337, damaged: 19, abandoned: 45, captured: 232)

    And from Ukraine's side:

    Tanks (154, of which destroyed: 66, damaged: 3, abandoned: 8, captured: 77)

So they've lost 154 but gained 232, and NATO has also donated a large number of old stock.

Looks like we will have a Ukrainian house guest next month if all goes well. Meeting on the weekend went well (she's already in the UK but needs to change sponsor due to an unexpected turn of events).

Or one with a toy plane overhead...

And that's the other thing about Putin: he has taught Ukrainian children to hate.
