I'm guessing someone would have preferred a two second warning. 😉The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I'm oddly fixated on the gap between the window casements. Looks very draughty.pblakeney said:I'm guessing someone would have preferred a two second warning. 😉

Astronomical twilight lasts all night this time of year. You will have to wait for late July for proper night time.
This is a useful website for this sort of thing

The sun setting in the W and rising in the E is a bit of a myth, only setting due west for about 2 days a year. At the moment, it sets to NW(ish) and rises to the NE.
This is quite useful.

Looks out onto a courtyard and is in Mexico City. So not much of an issue, even with the very changeable weather!Ben

One for Pross. Spotted on way to bed at 23:14, still twilight.
Note to self - More depth of field required.

Had a view like that with a red sky behind and dredgers lit up on the Bristol Channel when I was at Hinkley Point last night but was being driven around the site and couldn't get a photo.pblakeney said:One for Pross. Spotted on way to bed at 23:14, still twilight.

No great photographic merit, other than (maybe) knowing which angle makes this shot worth doing for visitors who want a memento of a crazy road:

I think I might be spending too much time in the woods. The two amigos again.

Must admit to being surprised by that as I've had less satisfactory results even using a polariser. Water must be *really* clean. Lots of rain run off from the previous week.pinno said:

Lovely clarity in the water.pblakeney said:My pick of the bunch from yesterday.
Forecast was for clouds so decided not to to take the camera. 🤬 Phone had to do.
But you also got very lucky with the light. I mean, water reflects light so readily especially through a lens.pblakeney said:

Hmmm. Got me thinking. It was taken at 12:26 so pretty much high noon and going by the shadows the sun was to the right and slightly behind me so side lit.
Something to be aware of in future. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I was surprised at the time you posted that it was taken on a phone as it looks like you've used a filter. I assumed the water was just very shallow.pblakeney said:
