This wasn't down at Seaton Wetlands? There's a cocky little fella that sits on the fence, mugging people for food.briantrumpet said:Just had a look at the original file, and the detail the (£200) camera picked up is indeed quite good.

There was a juvenile Robin in the garden that hopped on and off my spade when I was sorting the midden out and then he got covered accidentally with a shovel full of midden but wriggled out and ruffled his(her?) feathers and then hopped around the area I was excavating as if nothing had happened.
It was a long job and when I returned the next day sure enough he turned up.
I went and got some seed and placed it in my hand and he eventually worked out that what I was offering was edible and hopped on to my hand. This carried on for a while but then the cat clocked the fact that this Robin was close to me and so I had to end my friendship by avoiding him and shooing him away. Alas.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.4 -

No, Topsham. But if he had hands and a camera, I think he'd have been taking selfies.0 -
Trying to capture "cold" this morning. 1/2 hour difference. 😱 The first one is prettier but the second one conveys cold better. Shame the lens can see through the fog.

Sadly no frost here to frame the morning robins... they are at their friendliest now, and seem to like you talking to them gently. No wildlife photography skills needed. Sitting ducks.

What a great abstract. I was trying the same this morning, but I didn't take the shot. I wish I had now, but mine was looking less 3 dimensional than that.pblakeney said:

I feel annoyed now we didn't have any frost here today. Great photos, PB.1

Icy car reminds me I must give my car an Autoglym rapid ceramic coat.
Dead easy to use. Can do it in low temps unlike wax*.
*Unless you use Bilt Hamber double speed wax but the beading on the ceramic coating is spectacular and will proffer photo opportunities and 3 months easy cleaning/protection etc.

Few of the lovely frosty weather we have had for the last few days, fog rolling onto the sea, phone lines covered in ice, last one local place I fish street lights helped with this shot, local shellfish boat in the distance8 -

Great frosty/foggy pics.👍1 -
I was going to say, I bet the Autoglym stuff is worth more than the car. Actually it looks good value and is slightly less valuable than the car for the 500ml bottle.pinno said:

Cheers for the tip.
I've still got a part bottle of Coliinite insulator wax, which is good stuff. It's the laziness
I've got to sort out now.
I've got to change the front struts and replace the rear wheel bearings first. Too cold to work outside at the mo. Well, that's my excuse.0 -
Coincidentally my car above was waxed using Autoglym High Definition wax.masjer said:

In April. Bought in 2016 and at least 1/2 left. Lasts quite well as you can tell. 😉The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I always used Fusso soft 99 dark as a sealant.
Next spring (now I have got over the gulp pf applying rapid ceramic), I am going to get the longer term ceramic stuff.

Nothing much today, just a photo snatched through a slightly dusty window in between two Exeter University winter graduations. Four down, five to go. And I'm up to 301 now since 2008. I'm getting the hang of it.

I'm just trying to remember the formula for linear expansion coefficient, or, in this case, rapid contraction...pblakeney said:It'll be cooler when you sit on that saddle. 🤣

Robin and bonus blackbird taken at sunrise. Not as good as Brain's composition, but I don't starve my robins to perform.

Love the contrast with the blackbird against the white frost and then that lovely bright beak.0
