I was sorting out some photos on my Google account and came across this one I took in Bahrain.
The cycling in Bahrain was not at all exciting, this was as good as it got if you wanted to avoid idiots in fast cars on the motorways or dogs on the back roads

A blast of golden hour light.

Pah, grey, grey, grey, so here's a bit of cheesy colour to kick off the week.

I was there in 1980... don't think it looked like that then!navrig2 said:I was sorting out some photos on my Google account and came across this one I took in Bahrain.

Trying to get a nice shot of York Minster was a challenge with all the restoration work going on and tourist signs at ground level but I was quite pleased with this

I feel like I may have been scammed with the promise of First Class dining in a Pullman coach.3 -
Carlisle is a bit of a weird place, quite nice around the cathedral though

That's nice.
I wonder why the Topsham builders orientated the buildings with the gable ends facing
the river? Probably to fit more along the bank, I suppose.0 -

Nearly all the Topsham riverside houses are like that, yes, for that reason, I'm sure - some of them are really long, with equally long, narrow gardens. Most of them would be in the £1m-£3m range now, on the Strand.

From earlier in the week. Too windy, grey and miserable to bother tonight.
Picked up a retro Pentax dslr today. I had a quick play about this evening. Bad low light performance (ccd sensor), but the colours look great straight out of the camera.6 -
A cloud tunnel is always good at sunset... didn't last long, and the first one was the best.

^ It seems a bit calmer in your neck of the river. Been a bit blowy here for a while.0

Yeah, a band of showers passed through 90 minutes earlier, and a bit calmer after, I think.masjer said:^ It seems a bit calmer in your neck of the river. Been a bit blowy here for a while.

The HDR setting came in useful for this one at Great Fulford (ancestral home of the 'F**king Fulfords')

Thanks. I liked the slight sense of unreality created by that light through the dimpled glass too. I was glad it worked... just snatched the shot on the way to the gents.0 -

That's a lovely photo... brings back memories of my collie x GSD... I rarely saw him asleep (even as a pup he'd desperately try to stay awake and alert whenever I was around), but loved it when I did, and if he was dreaming about chasing something.Pross said:Rare bit of downtime
Here's a blast from the past... about 34 years ago, when he was just a few months old... and I still miss him.

Edit - Looks like it was rectified. Nice lighting. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -

It did surprise me, as it was otherwise as clear as a bell this morning.
