3km doesnt apply in mountain stages AFAIK
It doesn't, but presumably the commissaires have the power to enforce it. I don't envy them because this is a huge mess to sort out.0 -

Well he is right isn't he. It's the same principle.0 -
Whatever we do, we shouldn't listen to Flecha...Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

Now I've got the sort of GC gaps that I wanted at this point but with zero validity if CF doesn't come back to win. Complete and utter shambles for the whole leaderboard.0

I am not sure who has had the bigger disaster on this stage- Froome or emadden?0

It will be hugely unpopular, but I can't see how they can change the result. That of course doesn't mean they won't.

UCI Rule: 1.2.109: you can cross the finish line on foot as long as you have your bike with you
EDIT: not sure if there is a rule that states that the course must only be covered by bike... still looking**************************************************

IF the results stand, Froome could make a famous win of this.
Whether the results should stand or not we can't tell, as no one has truly seen why the bike stopped.0 -
What are the plausible options: give Froome and Porte the same time as Mollema, same time for everyone in the stage..?0

As utterly sh1t as it is for Froomey as least Yatesy takes yellow if the result stands0

He was on his bike at the finish line. You live and learn. At any rate, you live0

Why does it matter why the moto stopped?0 -
I think Boardman has nailed it by saying that its a bad thing to happen to the race along with the riders who went down.0

It's already lost credibility. It's happened. The problem for the Commissaires is can they be consistent. Because they can't neutralise this stage just because the yellow jersey was involved. Would they neutralise if only Yates, Mollema and Dan Martin had been held up by a crash?0 -
mfin wrote:On the video, Porte hits the bike, Mollema goes in the back of him. Froome is to the right of the shot, so maybe he hit the bike at the same time as Porte. Not sure. It doesn't look like he was behind Mollema.http://www.georgesfoundation.org

But this sort of thing has happened before and results were not changed.
If they do change the results what do they do. Give Froome, Mollema, Porte the same times as the Quintana group or give them the gap they had on Quintana?
Whatever they do its a shambles and I don't think they can change the result as if they do they are just making it up as they go along and only doing it because the yellow jersey is involved.
Quintana had lost the Tour there and now he's on the podium.0 -

It does mean he was a bit foolish. I assumed it was a rule that you could run across and he was only a 100m away. Neither of those were true.0 -
