    So Porte went into a stationary moto presumably caused by the crowds, followed by Mollema and Froome. Then total mayhem from there?

    I said yesterday that compressing the crowd would cause chaos and boy, it sure did.

    The race will have to be neutralised.

    'Performance analysis and Froome not being clean was a media driven story. I haven’t heard one guy in the peloton say a negative thing about Froome, and I haven’t heard a single person in the peloton suggest Froome isn’t clean.' TSP

    This has to be embarrassing enough for the ASO to do something drastic to stop it happening again. Watching the yellow jersey reduced to running up a f*cking mountain is ridiculous.

    Surely the 3km rule will apply and save Froome from this crazy ~90second time loss, running in clipless shoes up the hill!

    I think Froome lost his head there running. He was much further away than that.

    Fan control has been a big problem waiting to happen and there has already been plenty of warnings.

    The organisers have to stop being tight with their money and spend it on crowd control, be that extra barriers or marshals. I'm all for getting close to the action but there has to be a limit. It spoils the racing too as it ends up being single file follow the leader through the crowd so no one could attack even if they wanted to.

    I haven't been watching racing all that long, couple of years. I am amazed that this doesn't happen more frequently with the numbers of fans by the roadside.

    Forget the fact that it has always been like it/it's tradition, why are the big climbs not barriered from the bottom? If your saying it would take something away from the watching experience I am yet to read a convincing reason why this shouldn't be the case. Absolutely ludicrous.
