Derailleur fitted, tension spring correctly tensioned and done up using my torque wrench, how pro is that :D

Chain cut to length, quick link (misnomer there) fitted and cable clamp adjusted etc, final adjustment will be made when I have the correct Shimano outer derailleur cable (dispatched just now, so watch this space)

(For Mrs Pino who does not believe I do enough to justify a day off...Bike almost finished, pergola roof finished, if I get time I will carry on with the workbench/art table which should get completed just after I finish the studio roof replacement and guttering and flashing in case it rains)

I have a NOS period accurate rear gear outer that would go with that rear mech. The sort that's a bit like a slinky with metal ferrules both ends. Or is that what you have ordered??

Yep that's the bit I just ordered :D

Is yours 24cms long with a standard ferrule on one end and a step down 5.8mm diameter thingy on t'other end?

I'll have a rummage in the parts drawer when I get home. Not sure about the step-down ferrule though; might be the same both ends.
Got it with some NOS Shim 600 band-on DT shifters which went on the Peugeot rescued from a skip

And having rummaged in said spares drawer I discover I must've thrown the thing out

Although something good came of the exercise; in order to fully search the drawer I took it out of the chest, and so noticed the one below it also has bike stuff in it. At some time in the past I've obviously created an overflow drawer, and then promptly forgot about it. I have bar tape!

Anyone want to buy an alloy riser bar from an MTB I no longer have?

No probs, Thanks for looking :D

Ah the secret stash overflow hiding place for bike parts, I have one of those too and I have managed to hide six bikes in the lounge using the old 'hidden in plain sight' ruse :D

    The last piece...

The Shimano ferrule fits the Shimano derailleur cable adjuster (obviously!) but the frame cable stop needed a smaller ferrule, so I had to take the Shimano one off and fit a campagnolo one which fitted the frame perfectly, so committed a serious sin mixing Shimano and campagnolo, gonna burn in hell :D

For that finishing touch, you needed Campag.

    Gnome Leaves Suspiciously.

That is so shiny, it should come with a health warning.

    THE BIKE IS FINISHED! :D

Set up the height of the front mech adjusted highs and lows, cut cables, all gears work, everything functions within normal parameters, you can even cross chain if you like, nothing rubs, all is rosy or is that peachy, either way all is tickety-boo :D

Rode it up and down outside the house, nothing fell off :D

Need to find time to take the Imholz twins for a spin and a photograph or two, backdrop of the ocean me thinks :D

    As I said before...

    THE BIKE IS FINISHED!
