Seems to work well with cars :)

Evening wasters, managed to do quite a bit and be a bit lazy as well, result. Tomorrow evening I'm headed North to get the house ready for my old dears funeral on Wednesday. At least I'll have a good drive in The Panzer going against the traffic with all the lemmings coming back from their Easter breaks.

In Redcar, gin is open and the box is on. Trying to do some planning for the next couple of days but not doing very well.

All the best for this week Stevo, hope it all goes as well as these things can.

    Morning packers of the fudge,
Not happy about getting up and wobbling to work so early, but it pays the bills so shouldn't grumble. At least the scenery is good now.
Bit of an odd weekend, not only because it was sunny for a bank holiday. The lad had a phone call from a mate's mother telling him his mate had died. Still not sure what happened but he's had to tell his other uni mates about it as well as trying to deal with it himself. Can't imagine how the poor kid's parents feel, doesn't bare thinking about.
Now that I've put a complete downer on everyone I shall fark off and leave you to it.
Have a good week, live life to the full and tell your loved ones they are loved.

    Thanks all,

I've done as about much cleaning and hoovering of the house as I can be ar$ed to do. Even got the car washed as I must have killed several thousand insects on the way up yesterday. Still might look vaguely silly following a hearse through Redcar tomorrow though.

I'm stocked up on liquid refreshment for tomorrow afternoon so time to get stuck into sorting through more stuff to see what's of sentimental value for a bit. A good mate is headed up this afternoon so will go for some food and beer and some hopefully distracting conversation.

    Thanks JBA and all.

Got through an emotional day and just about held it together with a bit of support. Have been through the photo albums to remember them as they were. Now kicking back with a large G&T and trying to make inroads into the massive pile of food leftovers from the wake. Home tomorrow via the scenic route.

Well that's my 1 day week over with in the office - time for a pedal home now it doesn't look like p1ssing down with rain any more. I can say with some certainty that I will be having a drink this evening.

    Evening d1kwads,

Had the weekend off doing gash diy, had the hunt banquet on Saturday afternoon, tons of boozes and some foods! Today was a barby with chums, a very pleasant day was had. Talking tax with a tax wizard tomorrow (bound to be a boring tw@) and continuing the ropey diy.

    Toodles.

I did try but i think you were too busy train spotting!

    Evening analbleachers,

Bit of a blah day but got tax shizzle done, some more block work and a bit of strimming. It never stops!

The renovation has it's first guest booked in! We've made the downstairs accessible for less abled people and an old forces mate who had a bad accident is going to road test it for us!! This has thrown the bottom feeder into panic mode. Only a month to finish downstairs.........should be fine!

It's France, just give them all your money. Especially as you never asked for my advice.

Working at home and just finishing up now - long day and the joys of the dentist tomorrow morning. I've heard that wine is very good at cleaning teeth?

    Evening, fiddlers.
After a week off, during which it rained almost continually, I went back to work today. The sun has been out all day! Bah.

Had a weekend of what bg13 would call 'shizzle'. As part of this shizzleness I serviced my lawnmower. First time since I bought it in 2006. The blade was basically a fast-rotating piece of angle iron and I'm surprised the spark plug was still functioning. Mowing this week should be much easier as it will be cutting the grass rather than ripping it apart.

Yesterday was a trip to West Wales for my great-niece's birthday. It was nice to see the family and I popped in to see my parents while I was down that way.

Going to trawl the interwebzes this evening in search of a summer holiday...

Bet my mower is blunter than yours JBA, mine is 20 years old.

Evening Mongles, came home early as there were no French tax dodgers to advise today either. Not a bad day in work as not too busy and as the hot girl in marketing offered me some of her chocolate stash, so obviously she fancies me. She made some crap excuse that she'd eaten enough of the stuff and was feeling a bit sick as a result. Wahey.

Had to bunk off early to give Stropteen a lift to play in a concert even though she can drive herself. Apparently she'd be too tired to do a 14 mile round trip after a day at school  At least the Scousers got thrashed by Barca tonight, that cheered me up.

    Evening faketaxi drivers,

Had a busy old week, new french patio doors fitted, two new doors installed into the block work to replace the large barn doors and a bloke with a digger is sorting the patio.

    Nearly bloomin there!

Evening rubberneckers, I'm on a train to pick up Stropteen and drive her home in her car as she drove to school and she's had a drink at some after school event. The embarrassment of driving a girly blue polo, lucky it's dark now.

    Morning prevaricators,

Woke up to manthrax, head hurts, nose leaks, earth shattering sneezes and generally can't be arrissed! So I'm having a telly day! I may try and kill the lurgy with cognac, it's never worked before but I'm determined that one day it might!

    Afternoon, germ bags.

I went to a wild, scary place called 'West Midlands' this morning and picked up an impulse buy hard tail MTB.
SWMBO is not too impressed but she'll come round cos she loves me so much.

Off out for a ride now then I think it may be time for a little barbecue and a few beers.

No barbies here, the weather is totally schizo today, we've hadeverything from sunshine to hailstorm.

Anyhow, jobs done, shops raised and on for a good lazy evening with my new bottle of gin which the checkout lad had so much problem removing the security I realised afterwards that he'd forgotten to ring the bottle through on the till :D

    Morning spazwangles,
Mild hangover after dinner at a mate’s last night. Beer, wine and port were had, there was food too. Round to the old dear’s later to deal with a load of paperwork, deep joy. Got to be done and I’ve been putting it off too long.
What hardtail did you get JBA? Has the EPO forgotten yet?
Need to check over the Cotic today as it’s being taken out for an all day ride Friday.
    Need coffee now.

    Good day alkys,

Why are all you strange (old) people posting on Stevo's and my Daily Musings Thread?

Anyhoo, well in the grip of manthrax here, brain fluid leaking out of my delicate button nose at a rate unheard of in nature! Got a banging headache to boot and no boozes has been had for a few days.

To compund the misery I've had to measure beds and mattresses to see what will fit in the renovation! M'eh!

Too right bg, this is for youngsters only.

Time to do some more clearing out. Speaking of which, if any oldies need a new lease of life by doing a spot of downhill then I need to get shot of some kit. Seems a shame to chuck good stuff away.

Giant XTC Advanced+ 2. Feels strange riding it as it is nowhere near as slack as the Trance or Zero.
I think the EPO is ignoring it, which is fine by me.

A mate is buying the Zero but asked me to fit an NX Eagle 1x12 group set that he had bought to it. Did that this afternoon and went for a shakedown ride. I don’t want to let the bike go now!

In other news SWMBO ran a 10km race today and being the good husband I am I cheered her on and have treated her to a takeaway this evening.

bg13 - I feel for you, man. If only women understood how much us men suffer they wouldn’t expect us to do DIY shizzle for at least 3 months after such a bout of near-death illness.
