    Evening Mongs,

Working from home as the car needed sorting, except that the garage needs to keep it till the middle of the week so we had to get a courtesy car (read: poxy small thing). Strifey has insisted she wants to keep on with the old family car so I told her I'll spend the money on a faster car for me instead :D

    Time for wine...

    Evening... errr... Stevo,
Has Northampton done for bg? Manically busy morning for me followed by pub lunch with some Swedish customers, they gave me a couple of cases of beer and a fancy looking bottle of scotch. Spent the rest of the afternoon at the ‘rents talking to the old man’s financial adviser. He started with “have you tried him with some really strong skunk?” I pointed out that as he’s off his tits on morphine it may not help.
Back home and having a beer now.

    Evening wonky eyed weirdos,

Old man still interred by the NHS and they don't seem to have a clue as to his future treatment. This is sh1t. In other news i managed a couple of pints on Sunday afternoon.

BG - were the pints in the KPT/the white elephant (think lasts the name)?

Youngest goes to big school today so a slower start to see him off

The white elephant, brings back some memories, up by the race course! But no it wasn't. It was at The Towcester Mill Brewery, brew their own, good boozes in a nice setting.

    Morning berks,

Another day of sitting around watching quiz shows with a visit to the hospitall thrown in.

    Morning, worm charmers.

This morning it rained! That's all I've got for now.

Might as well charm the worms as we will end up as worm food.
Hospitals are rather dull, you have my sympathy bg. Pubs on the other hand are rather better. Very glad the old man is home as he's a lot happier for it, as is the old dear. The hospice sent a nurse over to spend the night with the old man so the old dear could get a decent night's kip, unfortunately he had a rough night and she could hear him so didn't sleep that well. They doped him up a bit more so he eventually got some sleep.
Need to get over there again this afternoon and sort some more stuff out. Sister needs to go back to Italy this weekend to sort some stuff out which is upsetting her. Not sure if he'll last until the weekend though. All a bit grim to say the least.
In better news it's not raining here and I need to pick up the cheap bike I bought on Fleabay for parts.

Surely that's just par for the course in wales JBA? We lost count of the number of times we played chicken with the rain when doing Cwmcarn and BPW.

Good pedal in but need to ditch the bike and go pick the car up as the garage fixed it a couple of days earlier than expected. Strifey then needs a lift as she needs to give the hire car back. Ho hum. I'm hoping it doesn't bloody well go wrong again, but given its age that unlikely.

At least we're getting rid of the chavs and druggies in next doors bedsit at the end of the month after a lot of emails to council and calls to the Plod. Result.

Really disappointing he's only a dope head, we can't even get good quality drug addicts around here. Now if there were any hookers then I'd be asking them to stay. What's that saying; 'he's as likely to move as a French man living next door to a brothel'.

    Evening bumders

Not a lot to report other than a lovely sunny couple of days spent riding bikes. Probably will do some work tomorrow, feel a bit guilty?!

    Evening tw@s,

Went deyn the teyn as the locals would say this morning, had to get the old boys car serviced also got some cheap trainers and had a cuppa. Enjoyed some nice scenery and didn't enjoy some not so nice scenery, like they say dress for the body you have not the body you want!

    Evening lifters of the shirt,
Bird has clearly forgotten what this place is like with talk of riding bikes and working.
Slacked off work today to be with the olds. My level of care will now focus on the old dear as the old man has shuffled off. Sorted a few things out over there now getting the EPO sorted before going for a beer. Minor detail, she broke her ankle. I’ve definitely had better days.

    Evening Gimps,

I was lured in to a meeting at our advisors by the offer of free bacon, egg and sausage which kind of set me up for the day :) Lunch with a mate who was over from Spain then a bit of delegation in the afternoon. I'm tired now...

Sorry to read that, V68. I hope everyone is handling it as well as can be expected. Look after your mum. She will need you.
You're really going through the mill.
    I have no words. :(

Sorry, I didn't read your post above before posting mine.

RIP :( . Deepest condolences to the family and the offer of a beer is there if you feel you need a break from it all.

    Sorry to hear that V68.

It's all sounded so shitty for you recently, particularly going through a no-win situation as your family has, small condolence at least that your old man's ordeal is over. Thoughts with you and your family.

I'll be having a drink on your behalf this evening Veronese. Come up for some air (read: forum bollox) when you feel like it.

Lots of Brexity stuff at work today but at least I got plenty done. That and sorting out the mess when our Japanese head office get their l's and r's mixed up in emails...

FRIDAY! Off to the Lake District tomorrow for a week(ish), think I'll call in at Llandegla on the way up as CyB was absolute crap (as per usual) the other day.

Today has involved pretending to do work so far, hopefully it can continue a bit longer.

    Morning yoga pant sniffers,

Quick trip to the shops with the old dear, got her the usual copy of the daily mail so she can moan on about how the country has gone to the dogs!
Off out for lunch at the sister in laws cafe, hoping to avail myself of whatever pensioners special they do, which hopefully includes an all you can eat bacon sandwich!
More visiting of the old boy later

    Enough of the compliments bg.

Overslept as I was cream crackered. Followed by busy day fuelled by coffee. Got referred to as a 'Brexit guru' by the boss on front of loads of people  I thinks that's earned me a cider while I peruse some automotive p0rn this evening.

    Evening reprobates,
Day of sorting stuff and general dogma as has to be done in these circumstances and trying to look after the Mrs. Think we’ve done most of what needs doing in the immediate aftermath, other bits can wait. The old dear has gone to Italy for a few days with elder sister as she had to sort some stuff out. This means I can relax a bit and concentrate on the EPO. Beer may feature.

Ply her with booze and then attempt a game of Mr. Wobbly hides his helmet. After all, she can't run away now.

    Evening, gusset lovers.

This morning I wasted 3hours of my life watching an IT mong spend 3 hours trying to get my new work laptop to connect to the internet. That's 3 hours of my life I'll never get back.
Where I work they buy £1300 laptops and then delete the hard drive so they can install a crippled version of Windows 7 that is so loaded with corporate bloatware and 'security' that the damn things can barely operate. Bah!

This afternoon I took a bit of a flyer and mowed the back lawn then decided to dismantle the swing/climbing frame that has been in the garden for the last 17 years. After much effort, several sheared bolts and a modicum of bad language I succeeded. The garden now looks huge! I am waiting for SWMBO to suggest some pointless structure to fill the lovely, empty space we now have on the lawn.

Decent couple of runs this morning, now enjoying tea before using petrol garden tools.

Later if wife’s company bbq, then off to the local. Might sneak a ride round the woods on the mtb to give the dog a run out

    Monging morns,
Followed JBA’s advice and made the Mrs a few good stuff G&Ts before making my move. She’s amazingly flexible for a woman with a cast on her leg. She managed to kick me in the knackers then the head before I knew what was happening. So more beer was had.
Lazy start to the morning, should start to do some things around the house I guess.

You give the game away with that description :)

It's coming up to Dad's taxi o'clock but the evening is mine to watch the footy with the hound while supping cold cider, as it's Strifey's turn to go see Stropteen doing one of her musical performances :) On a Saturday FFS...
