Afternoon future Fenchies & uphill gardeners,

Enjoyed some shopping with the mother this morning, large lunch when a brother n family pitched up and now watching some northern rugby with father. It's all go here!

    Afternoon bumders

On sofa with beer watching TV. Morning involved stupid smashfest on the road bike. The in-laws are here this weekend but they're out for the rest of the day now, winner, so far today I've seen them briefly this morning, and briefly at lunch, which coincided with getting home from the aforementioned stupid smashfast.

Probably should do something productive, but meh, may ride mountain bikes later if I can stand.

Not sure the local boozes shops could cope with two cruddy alkys in the same area, but shout if you need any info!

    Good day finger blastees,

Wet, cold and miserable here which means it's got to be a British bank holiday weekend!

Went out earlier to get a kneeling pad for the old man from a garden centre, luckily it wasn't too busy!

Sporty stuff on telly the rest of the day i reckon!

How are you coping dry in Northampton bg? Class A drugs?
I’m sat in hospital watching the rain fall. Got called in this morning as the old man took a turn for the worst again. He seems stable for the time being at least.

    Yo, yo, yo, fumblers.

Back in Blighty and feeing decidedly chilly.

Came back to the news that my dad has been sent home from hospital and is now at driving my mum to distraction with his constant moaning. He must be feeling a bit better!

Wanted to go for a ride today but it is persistently raining and I can't be ar$ed getting wet and muddy. Maybe tomorrow?

Imagine you two living near each other. There'd never be anything to drink in that part of France :)

Weather shyte but on the plus side no work tomorrow so just catching up of admin and stuff. Stressbag seems to have gone into clear out and tidy up mode in the upstairs cupboards. It's take a few years but she's finally got round to clearing out her piles of junk and old clothes.

Spent day trying to sell fancy road bikes. Avoided in-laws. Beer now. Happy days.

I'm definitely drinking much more since I've become a student again, judging by the number of empties that are rapidly piling up in the shed.

Welcome back to reality for those of you that work...look on the bright side, it's a 4 day week.

We forgot about tomorrow for a bit by going out to some Spanish restaurant in town this evening to celebrate Stropteen's GCSE results. Pedalling tomorrow which is just as well after the amount of food I've put away this weekend! You're only fat once, as they say.

    Evening swallowers,

A day of NHS fun for my poor old dad, a home visit by a lady that deals with bags followed by a hospital visit where they literally took the p1ss. Hopefully the water will continue to flow or it's back to the hospital, wouldn't mind but parking is £3.20 minimum. On the upside the three eastern european ladies running the cafe were quite pleasing on the eye!

    Hello... Hello... Hello... Hello... Hello

Is there anybody there? there? there?

Yesterday I went to the place with the big planes. All the planes appear to be broken!
Trying to get permission from the RAF Air Traffic Control to fly a drone over a hangar to inspect the roof but they aren't responding. I want to play with a drone!

Today it's back in the office and another attempt to catch up with the e-mails that arrived when I was on holiday.

Everyone's gone into hiding since TKM poked his head over the parapet.

    Morning spunkbubbles,
Rather busier than is ideal today, so I'm actively shirking in an attempt to look like I give a toss. Mind is definitely not here.
Old man got home last night, that was quite an achievement. Ambulance and stretchers, then we had to move a load of furniture so they could get him in. At one point I thought I was going to have to take a door off it's hinges. He's now all set up with a hospital bed, oxygen, drip, syringe pump and all sorts of other bits and pieces. Nurse Gladys has to visit 4 times a day. But, he's a lot happier for being at home so that's the main thing. The old dear is happy as well, needs a bit more help from us so the old people care programme has had to step up a bit, although at least I don't have to get to Tooting any more. Now it's just a question of keeping him comfortable until the inevitable happens.
Hope other members of the old fogey care group are doing ok.
Need to go in search of food now.

I know KM's a copper but we don't all have to run away.

Good luck with your old man V. No news from me on that but my cousin who is only 59 is in King College with several things wrong including Sepsis (whatever that is). Apparently touch and go as she has other complications including a badly pickled liver.

Maybe PC Kickingmule will call in annually, just to keep an eye on things and make sure we are being good?

Sounds tough for your parents, V68. I think it's better for the patient to be as happy as possible though even if it does make it harder for those around them.
My dad is driving my mum crazy with his constant moaning and 'advice'. She has now had a TV installed in the bedroom so he can stay in bed a bit more and she can take refuge in the lounge.

    Evening jizmoppers,

To keep the misery going in here we've had a rough couple of days with the old man, he's now back in hospital where the care is a shoot sight better than the care he's getting here! He's not as bad as V68's old man but he will be in the future. He's lost so much weight i reckon a decent breeze will have him away!
In other news while I'm slacking here the mrs is cracking on with the renovations! Log burner installed today, floor tiles next week! I'm right in the poo when i get back!

    Toodles.

    What day is it?

    Morning queers, lasses and southerners!

Just back from doing some 'shopping' with the mother, what a riot that was. Father had a reasonable night and as he's in hospital so did we!

Not sure what's happening this weekend but it will involve paying a fortune to park at the hospital, sitting by a hospital bed not saying much but hoping the fit nurse passes by and watching whatever televised sport i can!

    Morning, mucus warriors.

I too appear to have contracted manful. However, I am battling on so try not to worry about me too much.
I think I contracted it in the office from the twonk that has been coughing and spluttering all week so have come in to do my bit and spread the infection. However, as it is the last Friday of school holidays and the end of the flexi period the office is near-deserted so I may not be able to infect many people.

Looking forward to the weekend - Pub/Brewery this evening, MTB tomorrow morning, first match of the Pro14 tomorrow evening, road bike (sorry) Sunday morning, pub lunch and then in to Zooport for the end of stage 1 of the Tour of Britain in the afternoon.

bg13 - stay here for a while. More renovation work gets done when you are not in that French France.

Thought you'd be used to that now you're an OAP.
If the old man is an in-patient can you not get a deal on parking? The old dear got a card for £10 a week rather than the normal £2.50 an hour. Much easier for parking now he's at home. Lots of other stuff to do though.
Anyway, busy as hell in here. Managed to escape to the cafe for dead pig though. Time I was out of here now.
Have a good evening, I'm off to the pub.

Bastard of a busy day at work but I managed a decent pedal either end of it and stuff my face with chicken curry in between.

Managed to do a good email to the local council with a rap sheet of all the stuff the chavvy tenants in next doors bedsit dump have been up to, so hopefully the council won't give the landlord landlord license and they'll all have to p1ss off and live in cardboard boxes. I think this sort of thing brings out the compassionate side of me :)

    Afternoon basement barstewards,
At the ‘rents this afternoon as it’s the anniversary of their otis. Not much of a celebration given the circumstances.
Good night in the pub last night for a mate’s 50th. Wobbled over on the pub hack and managed to break a spoke. Only a mild hangover earlier this morning. Managed not to murderise the builders next door, mainly because the boss wasn’t there but had left his minions to it.
    Tiramisu is incoming, woohoo!

Working from home tomorrow as the car needs a fix again - heater matrix probably leaking inside the centre console so soggy carpets time. Bummer. Hopefully after that I can persuade Stressbag to part with it and we can get something faster

Otherwise its just your average Sunday. Well apart from the druggie tw@t in the chav hostel next door has had his third and final warning from the Rozzers for smoking dope. Next time we're hoping they pop along to say hello to him early in the morning with a battering ram and sniffer dogs.
