Afraid not. It was genuine, real avocado. Blimmin' lovely.

    Any bacons on it anywhere?

No, but there was a fried egg.

I'll make up for my error by having double bacons in a sarnie tomorrow.

You can probably get arrested for eating that sort of stuff in Wales. When I did BPW the B&B always gave us a full Welsh brekkie, which was just like a full English but cooked by people who speak funny.

Trying to avoid the wife at present as she's in a bad mood for no apparent reason and likely to try dishing out annoying jobs. Nothing new there then.

    Evening residents of ditches,
Been a busy week but better than last week at least. Sorted most aspects for the ritual burning of the old man, now trying to work out his finances. Glad I don’t work with anything as dull as that. Now helping the lad get stuff ready to take to uni.
    Chilling with a beer later.

Just stuffed my face with take away curry. May waddle to the bog shortly...

Cycling to morrow to try and shift some of the lard from this weekend.

    Arse!

Rubbish day in work, my dad is poorly again and now the smoke alarms in the house keep going off.
There are 12 of the buggers and we can’t determine which one is triggering. £36-worth of batteries are about to be changed...

    Morning, tea-baggers.

After much fun changing batteries last night the smoke alarms continued to sound. Eventually tracked it down to a faulty sensor at 12.30 this morning!
    I am now knackered.

Anyone know the collective noun for dog turds? A stink? A squelch? A retch?
Whatever it is I rode through a collection last night. Both tyres had 3 or 4 dog eggs stuck to them. I nearly threw up. Farking dog walkers letting their shit machines dump on paths and just leaving it there. Barstards!

Onwards! To caffeine and smoke alarm buying...

More than a bit by the sounds of it. Hope the old man is ok. Bg’s old man must be enjoying the peace and quiet now he’s back at French France.
I’ve been laid low with manflu powerful enough to fell mere mortals. Might go to work tomorrow. Thursday night is running around helping the old dear before the ritual burning of the old man’s remains on Friday. Should be a good bash afterwards at least.
Wife is getting better on her crutches, but not fast enough to escape me.

I think someone with a dog doesn't like you JBA. But 12 smoke alarms - do you have a really big house or just a big scaredy cat when it comes to fire?

Long day dealing with idiots wanting simple solutions to inherently complex problems. I think I'll write a 1 page slide deck saying 'Do it this way or call us for some advice - that's why we're employed here, you thick tw@ts'.

We had the attic converted to 2 bedrooms a few years ago and as a result had to have smoke alarms fitted in every room, hall and landing.

Wake up, sluggards. It's hump day. It's downhill to the weekend from here.

Today mainly involves coffee, looking for tips for the upcoming family trip to New York and compiling an environmental aspects and impacts register for the place with the big planes. I am so rock 'n' roll.

    Afternoon slackers and JBA.

In a theme familiar to quite a few Crudders, I'm skiving off early to visit my cousin in hospital. She's not in a good way; having a stroke, cirrhosis of the liver and sepsis doesn't help apparently. I suppose it'll make me feel healthy, relatively speaking.

I’m going to be encouraging my relatives to take out life insurance the way things seem to be going here. Do you think it’s karma for all the ditches that have been filled over the years?

On a more serious note, hopefully everyone gets betterer.

Back to normality, today involved feeling meh, which meant I sulked because I was feeling meh and didn’t go out on the bike this morning, instead heading into uni where I was incredibly/astonishingly/surprisingly/uncharacteristically productive. Bizarre. Then I got fed up of that and went to ride bikes this afternoon before prodding dogs and cats for money this evening.

    Evening twastards,

Handled lots of wood today, had a dip in the pool then chased a couple of mice around the living room unsuccessfully! Didn't help flapping a broom at it while shouting THOMAS!

Hospital visits are no good, can’t everyone just be well?
Been to the pub for the lad’s last evening session before starting uni. Busy few days coming up with funeral then family birthdays and then dumping the lad in Birmingham. Oh for a quiet life.

    Morning, jellyfish.

Sounds like a stressful few days for you, V68. Keep your pecker up and good luck.

Today is my Friday as I have tomorrow off. This weekend is the annual Jolly Boys' Weekend when 4 friends and I get together and act much younger than we really are. Drinks and a Turkish meal in Bagshot tomorrow evening and then in to That London on Saturday. That will involve more drinks, more foods and axe throwing!

    Cheers chaps,
Bloody knackered after much running around today, still not shaken the man flu. Lots of drugs to help me breath tomorrow is probably the way to go. Looking forward to next week being a bit more normal,

I'll have to make do with cider tonight. Though I'll drop by Waitrose on the way back and stock up just to be sure I don't run out.

Redecorating on going at Castle Stevo - luckily Stressbag is managing it all as I let her choose the paint colour for the walls from a selection that I couldn't really tell apart :)

Weather is sh1t here - tanking down with rain. By time you get here we will have all drowned.

I'm avoiding jobs again and trying to do some car shopping, but not very successfully. Thought I'd found a bargain, rang up the dealer and was told they'd sold it a few days ago but hadn't bothered updating the website. Gits.

    Evening ‘tards,
Bit knackered today after a hectic few days combined with this unshakeable manflu. Took the lad up to uni in Brum today, then once we’d dumped his stuff in his room took him out for lunch. We hadn’t been there long before we bumped into his cousin, he has a habit of bumping into her at gigs and other events that are nothing to do with family. They even bumped into each other quite literally in a mosh pit at the Reading festival a few years back. Felt quite sad driving back when I thought of telling the old man all about it before remembering he’s not there. I guess that’ll happen quite a lot.
Monday tomorrow so I will have to try not to murderise anyone at work, I’m saving that for the neighbours. Pair of selfish cnuts have got it coming so I’m giving up on trying to be civil.

    Evening gimps,

Not been home long and need to pop out soon to get Stropteens birthday take away (her choice). Gives me a good excuse to have a drink anyway, just hope I dont't fall asleep after all this pedalling.

'All this pedalling' you should be ashamed of yourself!

    Evening c0ckfags,

Been handling lots of wood today, so much in fact I'll be welcomed into the roady forum as one of their own! In other news I'll be handling some more tomorrow!
