Hmm, some reviews of the Bullets say they're a bit dead. Don't fancy that.

Mille should be ok. Anyone know the rim width?

Bullets are old hat are they not ?

Seems like. I'm torn. There are Racing nite on PX for £699. But I'd be worried about the brake track. Ditto the dark Mille ones.

Fancy Shamal Mille more than most but are they THAT much better than Racing3. Are Ksyrium at Merlin this weekend a better all round deal.

    Lots to think about.

I had mine for over a year, covered about 6-7000 and the rim had no marks or signs of the colour fading. Never rode in the wet mind.

If you use the correct pads then they are amazing.

Certainly not planning on wet rides but, well, you never know. I do love the look of them. If I could just find a voucher code for PX then those Fulcrum might just cut it. They look fantastic though I do prefer the Campag spoke pattern.

Well, after having dropped serious £ on wheels over the years, I am now a big fan of Ksyrium Elite in the slightly older guise as well as the new shape. Usual caveats, stiff light and strong and a perfect wheel for me nowadays. Not as esoteric as a deep wheel, nor as bling, but hugely practical and superb wheels. In my opinion.

Get em at £399 with blue hubs and buy some blue water bottles to match ;-)

I am all set to buy a set of Ksyrium Elites for my Supersix but I've seen the Superstar Pave28s reduced this weekend to £155. Not sure how they compare to the Ksyriums but a £250 price difference.

Hmm. Super tempted by the Nite or Mille but too many stories about brake track removal.

So, Kysrium might be back on the table.........Hmm.....

I'm also very happy with my Ksyrium Elites 2015 variant.
Much prefer them to the RS81s I had before them plus I got them for £230 from CRC last autumn so none left now.
As for you, these are fancy and a cracking price

They look nice. How about Racing Quattro Carbon at CRC. Should be able to use BC 10%?

I have just bought those for my Supersix Hi Mod build. Can't tell you how they ride yet though. Look the nuts though

Yeah. Which is a huge part of it. I appreciate that they're not light. But they're as light as light £500 wheels. It's that or I might also look at Miche SWR Full Carbon 38's. May as well do this thing right.

just buy a set of 303s and have done with it.
  • image.jpg

Glory shot of mine fully built and after my first road race on it.

Was a little nervous of its first use in anger being a road race in greasy conditions, that fear got put to bed immediately even with heavy legs.

A lot is made of its climbing and comfort but the descending is something else

    Good choice!

Make sure you use a cashback site before you order (every little helps).

The one thing putting me off it brake blocks. It seems like the Nite, Mille and Zero all require special brake blocks (which are supplied) and that there are tales of squeaking, wearing etc.

Whereas the full carbon quattro do, of course, require special blocks, but there are no tales of them not working properly, squeaking or premature wearing.

The Quattros come with the Campag red pads.

Agh Bender, you're an awful bad influence!! Doing a lot of miles and want to treat myself to some nice wheels.
Anyone tried the Ksyrium Pro Exalith SL??

Bewildering. I've spent all weekend comparing options and, as I see it, virtually all the more expensive Campag and Fulcrum options (aside from the Quattro carbon) come out as 622-15. I'd like to move on from that.

Ksyrium are 17 internal which makes much more sense and, whilst not remotely as sexy, they win on that score (and value).

Any other good 17 internals to look at? I'd get Hunt but, boy, that waiting list. Any reviews of those USE carbon ones?

I'm really happy with the performance and ride quality of my HiMod frame, but is it just me or is the paint and finish on these pure crap? I look after my kit and it's picked up more dings and scratches in 3 months than my previous Scott did in 3 years. To add to that, the green bit at the bottom of the seat tube seems to be a vinyl/sticker overlay rather than paint and is peeling too. There's no way that part of the frame could be scratched from regular use so it's pretty disappointing IMO.

I'll have a look on there. I'm also thinking Hunt wheels but I'm actually concerned that 19mm internal is TOO much for 25c. Hmm.

Now.....not a lot of people know this, but - if you listen very closely the lyrics in the above song link actually go something like ..."I got wheels they're multiplying, and I'm losing control...blah blah blah....the power they're supplying, it ain't electrifying ! blah blah.... Don't know the one's that I want ?!!!"
Go on, have a listen

PS... You'd better shape up ! : You don't need em man ...........
