Bewildering. I've spent all weekend comparing options and, as I see it, virtually all the more expensive Campag and Fulcrum options (aside from the Quattro carbon) come out as 622-15. I'd like to move on from that.

Ksyrium are 17 internal which makes much more sense and, whilst not remotely as sexy, they win on that score (and value).

Any other good 17 internals to look at? I'd get Hunt but, boy, that waiting list. Any reviews of those USE carbon ones?

Have you discounted handbuilts? Eg DCR Yellow Jersey carbon...
    http://dcrwheels.co.uk/products/dcr-com ... rbon-rims/

I'll have a look on there. I'm also thinking Hunt wheels but I'm actually concerned that 19mm internal is TOO much for 25c. Hmm.

Pro One 23's come up at 26mm on my Hunts(race-season aero-wide),think the 25's would be a tight squeeze on the Helium, presumably the supersix has tight clearances too.

I've been trying to figure out why my reach is just that bit too far. I appreciate the bars are wide (44cm) but assumed the stem was 100mm (stock). Turns out it's 110mm. That will explain it.

110 stem and 44cm bars on a 54 (a relatively small size) is ridiculous.

i assume cranks are 172.5 but nothing would surprise me.

I'd like to see that, it'd be an interesting contrast to the old Commuting Scott CR1 thread.

Barring a tyre change in a month or so, and a possible change in pedal system in the summer, mine is *done*. Trouble free build apart from the NDS bearing cup, which took a good few hundred km to "run in" and loosen up a bit (suspect the cup is a little out of spec, TBH, but I'm in no hurry to replace it until I need to) but now runs glassy smooth. I spent a bit more than planned because whilst it was OK with the light alloy kit I pulled from my CAAD10, I clearly wasn't getting the best out of it, so went a bit silly on finishing kit. The hidden advantage is that my CAAD remains as good as it ever was.

    Finished Spec:

SuperSix Evo Himod Frame/Fork, size 54. Steerer trimmed to approx 200mm
    Cannondale Headset. lightweight expander
    FSA PF30 BB
Cannondale SiSL Crank, 105mm Spindle, FSA rings (50/34 or 52/36 depending on mood)
    Ultegra Shifters, mechs, brakes, cables
    SwissStop Greens
Fizik Cyrano R1 post* and Bars (42)
    Fizik Performance Tape, green (obvs.)
    K-Alloy Uno Stem, 100mmx6 (Pound/Gram ratio FTW)
Fabric ALM Saddle (Shop display model, off ebay)
    Ritchey Paradigm V5 Pedals *
    SuperStar/Pacenti SL23 Wheels (20/24 Sapim Laser Spokes)
Schwalbe One tyres*, 25mm Tubeless with Schwalbe tape, sealant and valves)

It ran me about £1200 all in, not costing recycling, and tips the scales at 6.6 or so.

The items with asterisks will probably get changed or tuned at some point. I confess that the weight of the seatpost troubles me, and I reckon the issue is mostly in the bolts used.

He's been told already about his rings :x
BORs for £40 a pair are the way to go, no need for any special tools or adaptors, you don't even have to take the crank or chain off to fit.

    Hmm, power meters..

I'd like a power meter and have actually a Powertap pro, but 10 speed, plus I don't want to spoil the look of different wheels. I guess I can sell the wheel on.

I have the SiS2 cranks (standard on the model I bought), so I guess I really should keep those on.

I also use Shimano pedels on a number of bikes, and all pedal based power meters appear to be Look cleats.

The only compatible PM I can see is the single sided "Stages" crank arm. Any others for SiS2 people know about???

Pretty sure that you can get a Quarq Power meter spider that will fit the spline of the SiSl2 crankset. Just remove the existing Cannondale spidering, by removing the lockring and slot the PM spider on in it's place, you would need also need new -conventional- chain rings . Would be worth talking to Bob Tobin at Cyclepowermeters.com to get the full SP though.

Just as an aside, what frame size is that ?

Been lurking this thread for a little while but since it's now also a show your 'six one:

    12961579_10154878441885190_5357612062172451993_n.jpg?oh=4681e926ac976aef7afa163724277ed8&oe=578BAB68

Cero AR24s for now until I find some carbon, upgraded seatpost/saddle/stem.

It's a 52 but has 44cm bars so they'll want changing soon enough but as I'm not racing this year I'm not too fussed.

105 can stay on until I can afford eTap!

Lots of bike for just over a grand it must be said, big upgrade on my old Defy.

Just on the subject of wheels, I have just taken delivery of these:

    https://www.mantel.com/uk/mantel-38mm-f ... d-wheelset

I ordered them at 17:30 Wednesday, and they were delivered today at 16:00, so very quick turnaraound.

They seem very nicely finished, came with a set of Edco Red Brake pads and Edco QR, I weighed the rims as a pair, as they came out of the box, so just the Rim Tape fitted (also Edco Branded), they came out at 1410g.
now I'm no expert on rims, and my reason behind buying these was purely for the aesthetic element, I have no delusions that they will make me any faster!.
i have just fitted a pair of 25mm Continental Grand Prix 4000s Tyre's, and hopefully will get out tomorrow for a shakedown, will give some feed back then.

How about the 4iiiis Precision? I have a powertap g3 on one bike and a 4iiis Precision on another. The 4iiis seems just as accurate as the Powertap, it's a good price for a power meter ($400 + taxes) and it's compatible with the sisl2 chainset.

Sadly, have concluded that my 56cm bike is too big for me, despite loving it and trying to make it fit. Happy to admit defeat, though gutted. Just not working for me.

if i had a cannondale crank i would chuck on a power2max - no brainer. you lose the spidering (ebay) but that'll offset the cost.

I've riden a supersix evo with di2 on two occasions each time for a week in the mountains and have to say wasn't that amazed in fact I think the crappy di2 and shocking tyres distracted me from forming a real opinion, I like the looks and no it's not the lightest mass production full bike available, but I'm sure it would make for a happy do everything work horse.

Which is the what I've been doing on my Scott for the last few years whilst my R5 hasn't been off the wall of my living room
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.
