I really like the look of them...maybe in the summer I'll manage to convince myself I need some, at the moment all my money is going on winter kit :p

My Pacebreakers have just turned been delivered, I won't get a chance to try them until the weekend.
First impressions when compared against a pair of Rapha Flyweight glasses.
Similar weight (28 grams for the Sungod vs 25 grams for the Rapha - yep I did weight them!)
The Sungods are more robust feeling, both the lens and the arms feel strong, the Rapha arms are where the lens gets changed out and these are now a touch loose (after 18 months use)
The Sungods fit closer to the face, the Rapha doesn't quite sit flush over the cheek area.
A bit personal but the sungods look a bit more modern.

I'm now off to order a pair of the Renegades from my wife to my as a valentines gift. Am I too old at 45 for white frames and purple lenses? They do look damn good! I've lived in plain black Oakleys for the last 15 years so this is a big decision!

Do like the look of the pacebreakers, especially with the code, but wish they would do to prescription.
Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.
    Bike 1 (Broken) - Bike 2(Borked) - Bike 3(broken spokes) - Bike 4( Needs Work) - Bike 5 (in bits) - Bike 6* ...

Code should be good till midnight, at least I think that's what happens.

Too old? No idea, I want the black tortoiseshell with purple lenses. Mrs said I'd be better with the all black ones.

Have a look in the LTD part as well. The Neptune are quite cute (but are Classics rather than Renegades)

Just received my Pacebreakers. Look even better in the flesh than I had expected. Just need some good weather to test them out in.
  • Glad you're pleased. President of the local cycling club ordered some too, always nervous when such esteemed company does. He's really pleased too.

At least you'll be easier to find if you end up in a ditch/snowdrift.

  • It's very bright. Not quite as orange in real life. But lovely. Epic bars on it. First ride to work on it next week I think, wait for a dry day.

Nice. I think the new stuff looks really good.

I like your comment on the -12deg C windchill for next week. Over here the actual temperature is forecast to be -14degC overnight with windchill to add on top of that! Can't say I am looking forward to my commute!

Good chance to really test out my new Pearl Izumi Lobster gloves though. so far they are pretty good.

It does. Assos stand still for years, which is fine, then update the whole shebang. There's a move towards S9 apparently, the Equipe Evo are kind of S8 or something. The SS summer jerseys (Mille and Equipe look really good). I applaud the fact they've gone cheaper, quite a lot of it is considerably cheaper than Castelli now.

I have a new style Equipe jersey. It is very good, especially in very hot weather. Looks great too.

I like your reviews, good level detail in what can be a very confusing and crowded market. When your paying top money for a kit you want to know what you are getting.

    So, given you seem to have ridden in a lot of kit from a lot of the 'big' brands and a number of smaller ones too;

if you were setting up your own cycling team and had a pick of any supplier, which would you choose?

Depends how much money I had or how cheap the supplier was.

There are loads of great brands out there, if you were setting up a racing team, or at least a team of something, you'd want to be able to kit them out in one set of gear.

So, money no object, it would be Assos. But with an honourable mention to Parentini who do just about everything (and have a shoe arm as well). But if money was an issue then dhb and Lusso.
