Bender - I'm after a bit of advice from the oracle of all things Castelli.
I've got an Alpha jersey (old style, size large) which is a good fit.
Got my eye on the Perfetto long sleeve and also the new Alpha jacket. I'm wondering how those two size up compared to the Alpha Jersey.
Would you go for the same size in all three? Is the sleeve length pretty similar between the three of them?
Also, how do you assess the temperature range of the Perfetto long sleeve compared to the Alpha Jersey?0 -

Those three are, more or less, identical on sizing. Sleeve length should be identical too.
The temp range of the Perfetto LS and Alpha is pretty similar. But the Alpha is a little warmer so better down to colder temps. Perfetto a bit more 'weather proof' Castelli say but I don't agree. I'd take an Alpha over a Perfetto most of the time.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

That's Alpha JERSEY over a Perfetto Jersey/Jacket, of course.
The Alpha JACKET is good for - figures up to about 6 degrees. A real cold weather one.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

BTR, Reading your (very good) rucksack review, I noticed the reference to your new Giro Republic Knit shoes. I think that officially makes you the Imelda Marcos of the cycle shoe world (and also worse than my Mrs!). How many pairs of shoes is it now?Cannondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra

FWIW, I'm happy in my Alpha jacket all the way up to about 10 degrees. It depends on factors like wind and rain, but there's plenty of scope to tweak the temperature range by choosing a thinner, or short-sleeved, base layer.
Oh, and my effort level. I tend to go a bit slower on commutes than I do on club ridesThey use their cars as shopping baskets; they use their cars as overcoats.0 -

On the back of this thread, I contacted Sungod to inquire about getting a test pair of glasses to try for size (as they have a no returns policy). They have refused to send a test pair and suggested I stop a local cyclist and ask to try on their glasses (which is a response which leaves me speechless, do they want a sale?!). This seems incredible to me, is anyone else is the boat of wanting to try these before purchasing? Or is it just me?0

Really? If a random punter stopped me and asked to try my expensive glasses on I’d tell her or him to sling their hook.0
