Looks like a pretty good price, I'm probably a small so that's £10 - any good for pairing with a dhb aeron SS jersey for rides around the 6-8C range? (Slow club rides with a lot of stopping and waiting for people to catch up :o )

I have some and they're OK. Could do with being a bit longer (I'm 6'2" and have them in M). They aren't warm enough to wear on their own at 6-8 C on a steady ride. Maybe a 1 hour crit or 10 mile tt at 8 C. They are thinner than most.

    How's everyone's Aldi Moon Nebula knock-off doing?
My front's heatsink has corroded badly, and it's cut out twice on me after 4 minutes, even after a good 8 hours charging, not sure if it's heat build up or battery related.
Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

Mine are corroded, but both still working perfectly! All weathers, all days, the rear is even on the seatstay next to the mudguard!

Read the Giro review BTR. That side strap with the ratchet is almost identical to the Sidi's. In fact, I can't ell it apart that much, have a look:

    $_35.JPG?set_id=880000500F

    s-l500.jpg

    There's so little between them.

I see you darkened the font, I hope that wasn't solely on my account. (No pun intended).

Read the The Bibs review and ordered a pair. Most I've ever spent on shorts by a long way so I'm hoping for great things from them!

I didn't alter the font, must be your eyes :D

The Sidi and Giro are quite different. The Sidi will feel a bit heavier, stack height is greater, not quite as comfy overall. A bit, well, old fashioned now. The Giro are lighter, airier and easier to keep clean. The ratchets may look similar but they work a bit differently.

Just been reading your review of the jawbreakers, i'm really tempted to hit that buy button, but fear that I may look ridiculous.

I'd say don't worry about that. I've got a pair and they're the best sunnies I've had no question.

Yeah, without a cycle helmet they look complete gash, but you can't see what you look like when you're riding in them. They are great BTW, just thinking this afternoon how much I like them (this was low in the drops trying to beat a headwind earlier, not exactly your typical head down Cav sprint), but the additional lens coverage still makes for an improvement on my other cycling specs...

Also have to add a + vote for the Craft Extreme WS baselayer (short sleeve) after first outing today. Outside it was "Not warm, not cold", but worn with the Potenza jkt/jersey was a brilliant combo. Just the right temp for the entire 50 miles I was out today, and handled mizzle, wind and a bit of warm sun too Got to love great kit

The only other ones I'd consider for coverage are the Assos ones. But even as a fanboy I just cannot bring myself.

Yeah, I can see the Elton similarity - speshly given your new found liking for Seano

    Back OT:

Re.: Giro's. Yes, shoes have much evolved but there comes a point where the evolution has been pushed to it's economical limits.
I'll probably be tempted but only when i've drilled holes in my new inserts (and the new Sidi's) but until then, i'll just play devil's advocate.
However, your reviews are such that it tempts you into anything.

Any thoughts on the Bont Vaypor S shoes? I have Sidi wires but looking for a change and a little more comfort

Just chuck some inserts into the Sidi's. It's the only way to go.

Bought a pair last year, but sent em straight back, strange sizing. I sooooooo wanted them to fit though, well lush they were.

No room for inserts unfortunately. looked at their online store an Australian company selling from Germany in US dollars, quite strange.

I've had a few pairs of bonts including vaypor, vaypor+, blitz and now the vaypor S. All were nice but I've definitely found the vaypor S to be the most comfy. So much so that my shoe collection has shrunk from 5 or 6 pairs down to 2. The vaypor and vaypor S.

Anyone who didn't like the Orange version, it's now available in black. Very nice that.

Hmmm, I wasn't much of a fan of the orange but this one's not great either - will stick with the bioracer stuff I picked up on sportpursuit for now.

I thought the orange one was proper offensive at first but it's grown on me a lot. I've seen a couple out on the road and they are very eye catching. I might get one to put in the cupboard if I spot a bargain.

On a related subject, I've got some of the DHB Rain defense arm and leg warmers which are 70% windtex storm shield. It's good stuff. Slightly clammy, but somehow warm and comfortable. Leg warmers over the top of overshoes for when it's splishy splashy.
