Positives (at the Mo) CRC still has a £9.00 free delivery spend as opposed to Wiggles £20
Negatives (on full priced DHB) no gold and Platinum discount.

But there is still 10% British Cycling discount (at the moment and only once a month on orders over £100) which is taken off sale prices, not just RRP. Pros and cons - sometimes one will work out better than the other!

I presume your talking about the Wiggle take over.

What's the warmest DHB out of that CRC collection Bender?

  • I do like the look of the new DHB AVS Red Jersey;

I wonder how well the windtex would perform with the roubaix fabric (I'm thinking breathability for sweat during the colder days... as I get older I feel the cold a lot more).

  • Should be fine. It's as breathable, in my view, as anything else. Good price, should be decently warm. Im might pick one up myself

  • I think I'll be going for one as well, it'll probably be ideally for commuting as well with cold 06:00 am starts but warmer after rides if it breaths Ok.

  • There used to be one called the Windslam Blade which was almost certainly windtex. Used to wear it for just those purposes and it's a warm one. Given the presence of windtex it's going to be pretty weather resistant as well!

How are people with the Aldi Nebula knock off finding the battery life?

Because of this thread I am giving mine it's first charge since buying on 29/09 and using the rear daily for 45 minutes on the 8 days since fitting it. Without this topic I would have forgotten to give it a charge tonight.

Wow, that's not bad - what setting is that on?

Now onto it's 6th charge, I normally run the lowest flashing for an hour a day, so if x-refing a nebula should be 20 hours 40 mins, which I'm definitely not getting, but the life is definitely getting better with use.

    I don't know if it's my charger ( a 5 port Philips 2A thing) related or not.

Decided 1 of mine is dead and taking it back.
Charged Friday, used for an hour. Back on the bike today, completely kaput, wouldn't turn on.
    Backup/SEcond unit thankfully A-Ok.

What's your view of the long sleeve Rapha brevet Jersey looking at the bundle price it's quite tempting
  • Love that piece. Really nice. That said a long sleeve torm is almost as good, just loses out on reflectivity.

What I have seen seems like perfectly respectable kit - kind of like their version of DHB. I have some of their summer mitts/gloves that are really good. Dont have anything else but seen lots of it about. Doesnt quite have the brand cachet of some of the other makes but very good value and well made.

It turned up yesterday so gave it a once over last night, the quality seems very good as well as the fit and it looks like it's going to be a warm and versatile jersey.

I've been searching for a jersey like this for a long time so this could be the one.

I bought a couple of their tops a while back, sold one, and will be selling the other one soon - quality was fine, and for the £30 I paid, very good vfm - only thing I would say is that the sizing was large compared to other manufacturers - I am usually a Small\Mediu,m on top, and ordered a small which was the smallest option, and it was a long way from fitted.
Having said that, it was probably 4 years ago, and it was more of a commuter top, so it might be that their more pro ranges fit a lot better, I guess the reviews might tell a story :)

I thought that Louis Garneau was an independent company (Canadian?), rather than an in house Evans brand I think they sponsor one of the French teams). aren't you thinking of FWE? Stuff looks really good, although they don't make a Stoat Sock though.

I had always assumed it was inhouse as well, but it seems you are correct, guess Evans just have exclusivity within the UK then.

They may be an independant company but they seem to be exclusively sold by Evans and seem to be pushed quite hard by them. Do FWE do clothes? I always think of LG as their 'in-house' clothing brand and FWE as their 'in-house' tools & accessories brand.

I think it is that Evans have exclusive rights to LG in the UK, rather than them being an in-house brand. They are Canadian and used to provide kit to the Europcar team.

  • So, Rivelo. Got some 3/4 on test. Really nice, more Assos 434 spring than 605 winter. Cheap at Sport Pursuit.

I've had a pair of their Honister shorts and Garsdale softshell waterproof jacket. The shorts are good but I don't think they are the same quality as Rapha classic short, more like their Core bibshorts. The jacket is very good, totally waterproof (so far) and reasonably breathable. Fit on me is a bit loose, as I have long arms if a jacket fits my torso invariably the arms are too short so I normally go up a size.
  • They're definitely not assos or rapha (main) quality. But they're under £50 at Sport Pursuit, which is fine, and actually very good at that price. At rrp no.

  • Maybe I was damning with faint praise, I like them and the shorts I've got (also £50) are worth the money, the jacket is great quality made of Schoeller C-Change material.
  • I'm thinking of getting the rain jacket, porelle membrane, £59.

  • Anyone got any experience of pas normal studios stuff? I've been tempted by some stuff for a while as it looks really good, but it is a tad pricey!

Also the cafe du cyclist rain jacket looks decent too, but again quite expensive. Need a decent race fit rain jacket for winter, any recommendations to save me reading through all 50 odd pages!
