Your review of the Mossa kit was spot on. Was looking at the Gabba but one of my LBS (Cycle Art in Northumberland) has the Parentini Test Kit in and the Mossa was great.

Need the short sleeve though. £130 or so may be expensive but will probably stand the test of time.

Those eastern express bars are proper minging. Made me nearly throw up it was so horrible.
    RIP commute...
Sometimes seen bimbling around on a purple Fratello Disc or black and red Aprire Vincenza.

I really liked it! That's the thing though, different strokes. Can we all join in the hate for the SiS Whey2O?

Oh god, that whey stuff is so bad! It's like the worst yoghurt you've ever had mixed with the worst shower gel you've ever used.

Glad you agree. It's a superb piece of kit! Next year's looks even better as well!

May be getting the Castelli Perfetto, but not for free, I need to have a think but I do think it would be of interest to everyone!

Let me just raise some funds and I will sacrifice my cash for your intellectual enlightenment.

(I honestly can't see how it can't be other than brilliant)

Most definitely would be interested in your review. I have seen one review but it was very vague and not particularly descriptive. If you are large there is a guy on ebay who is selling it for less than £100.
This is the cheapest I can see in the UK:

I am expecting it to essentially a Fawesome with sleeves, rather than anything resembling a Gabba - which is exacly what I was looking for a few years back. At that time the closest I could find was the Sportful Norain Light top.

I can see one being added to my wardrobe later this year.

I had a quick look at one in a bike shop it looked very much like a light weight Gabba 2 - same fabric in the collar for example. The compare facility on the Castelli website throws up an interesting comparison.

I am also interested in the "arrowind" Mossa - however, I cannot find out much about it and I do not think it is available for sale in the Uk directly.

Essentially the front of the Perfetto is 150 Windstopper, so that's the material the Alpha is made out of. I'm guessing it's not lined, a la the Alpha.

The back is nano light rather than nano warm. That should be similar.

It's interesting as this might well be more like an Alpha short sleeve than a Gabba lite. I have to say that I'd prefer the former.

Thinner windstopper on the front and nanoflex light on the rear - certainly the rear is the same fabric as the Fawesome. this wont be as waterproof as the Gabba on the back though.

If the Perfetto is even lighter on the front then that could be even better!

I am proper excited about this garment - I must be a right saddo...

Looks like Castelli mean to confuse us all later this year though:

    http://www.castellicafe.co.uk/castelli- ... ?var=11078
"Later this year you will notice we are dropping the Gabba name on all but the original and the best Gabba Short sleeve race jersey. The long sleeve version the 'convertibile' and the fawesome vest will all be called Perfetto - Why Perfetto - well because they are perfect of course."

Now a convertible Alpha/Perfetto would be the ultimate...!!!

It's a very thin version of the Mossa – made with a windproof fabric. I've not tried one and I don't think may have been brought into the UK.

From recollection that's right. I think it was determined that it wasn't really a UK piece given how crappy it is here, and because the Mossa has such a range. That said, being a windstopper, it should actually be very effective still.

Anyhow, Mossa day tomorrow. Bring it.

I was wondering Bender whether you have come across the Gore Power Windstopper Soft Shell Jersey?
Have seen the short sleeve one for £90 and I am very tempted.

I haven't but I've had a squizz. Essentially any windstopper will keep the water out far longer than the maker's claim that it might. That's dependant on seam placing of course. My only issue with that Gore, who are of course fantastic, is the amount of seams compared to, say, the Gabba. I've excluded the Mossa as that is waterproof.

The one that runs up the front of the arm is a mistake and means that it's likely to get wet there quicker. Ditto the one under the pit, just moving that to the side would have been better IMO.

It's not clear whether this Gore WS material is lighter than the Gore WS X-lite in the Gabba either.

But the main thing is fit and feel. The Gabba does feel good and that's what makes it a good option. But the Mossa feels better in my view. I really want to try the Perfetto as I think, sans base layer, that may feel perfetto. We'll see.

I've asked Lusso for some information about that Corsa jersey. If that's light and waterproof then I might just give them my money instead.

I found a review of that Lusso one, which has been out longer than I thought.

It has me thinking that the Perfetto may not be quite so Perfetto.

I've had a Perfetto (medium in red) a few weeks now, but haven't found the conditions to try it out yet. Feels lovely on, rekon I might try it this weekend.

I reckon you would be surprised and find you can use it in lots of conditions, just by adjusting the base layer thickness underneath. With a Helly Hansen 1/2 zip freeze, the Fawesome would be excellent recently, I think the Perfetto would be even better.
