Got the black gilet today to replace the yellow. Much better together with the yellow jersey.
    Happy now ☺

I sized down in the aeron roubaix long sleeve. Good decision. Might have lost some weight.

Went out for a 3.5 hour ride yesterday in 5 degrees and the jersey and gilet were excellent.

Maybe a bit chilly on the upper arms when it got really windy but to be expected without any wind protection there.
Fit, warmth and looks all top marks.

    Well done dhb.

I opted for the dhb Aeron jersey and seamless base layer yesterday for Battle on the Beach. Along with my tk.607 bib knickers. Just superb. The perfect choice.

Interesting thing. The inner arm section on the dhb has a very very similar fabric to the fleece on the inside of the Assos bib knickers. I'll try and do a photo comparison. They won't be the same as the Assos one is proprietary. But they really do look similar.

I do like my tk.607 knickers. The only problem is that the fabric is slowly disintegrating after 4 years of heavy spring and autumn use (sun damage?). I'll have to retire them soon. I bought the tiburu insulated shorts as a replacement for use with knee or leg warmers depending on conditions.

The fabric on the TK607 looks quite different to the Aeron though, the inside of the TK607 is fleecy in a kind of chequerboard pattern, whereas the Aeron has the fleece in a ridged pattern. Both are doing the same thing though, providing loft without bulk.

I would say that dhb have used Assos quite heavily for inspiration...

Yeah, they're not quite the same, but as near as would lead you to think they've looked towards a fabric of that type for inspiration. And it works very well. The tk.607 have always performed well above their weight in the cold IMO and whilst I do think that traditional roubaix works very well the Assos proprietary stuff does work extremely well. At a price mind. I'd certainly not take the Tiburu jersey over the Aeron (you could have 3-4 of them for the price). Very similar.

Oh, and also, been using the Aeron's today. Evolution rather than revolution. Very good indeed though with some changes and a few foibles. More on that soon. The Speed range is definitely very nice though, that's more revolution.

Tried on my Aeron Rain Defence arm warmers yesterday and XS was wayyyyy too narrow at my weight of 57kg at 5'4''. The length was fine, but they were properly compressing around the wrists and I've got typically skinny asian wrists1! The material isn't as stretchy as normal lycra, so you need to size more carefully than with normal arm warmers. I'd imagine that the Rain Defence knee and leg warmers are the same.

Agreed. the Aeron Jersey is very nice. not really worth the extra money for the Assos equivalent.

When I did my first piece I kept it quite short but I think I'll do an in depth review of the Aeron long sleeve. I really do love it very much.

Not worn mine in anger yet but it does feel very nice on. Gilet came today so will get a chance to try them out together. Quality on both very good, the pockets in the side of the gilet are inspired, I wonder why no one has done it before? In terms of the cycling wardrobe how does the jersey/gilet combo sit alongside a gabba/arm warmer combo. I have both but sometimes struggle on which to wear for the prevailing conditions.

Excellent review yet again. The short sleeves look really interesting.

Can you have too many cycling jerseys? :-)

I don't think so! Shorts review soon. Oddly I might prefer the normal aeron here

Rode to work today in the Aeron LS jersey/gilet combination. It was fresh when I started out, about 5 degrees. Felt comfortable and didn't turn up at work a hot, sweaty mess as I have on previous days wearing a soft shell jacket.

Thanks for the good work. I know that the only thing you can do is to compare kit with things you have tried, but the assos mille shorts are not now the current generation, it would be more useful to compare against the current S7 range which are considerably better than the S5 range in my opinion.

Perhaps the nice marketing man from assos will send you a pair for review sometime :)

I should have said that I didn't really like the s7. Dunno what it was. Lower cut? They are sending me a rally trekking Jersey mind. I won it at battle on the beach.

Fair enough about the low cut front, that's a bit marmite. but for me, the pads on the S7 models i have tried are way more comfortable than the uno, mille and fi.i3 S5 pads.

I was impressed by the pad. I think assos are still the benchmark. May try the Base model and see. I have a contact at assos so will see what I can do.

Have you tried the equipe level pad? That one is great.

Yeah, it was those I tried. I didn't get on with the front and, for me, I'm never keen on the side of nipple straps. Perhaps I will give it a go.

I'll do the Rally jersey review. Probably also a tk.607 one. Then I'll tap them up.

Mind, I have a pair of Parentini P.Race at the moment and they're great. I should be reviewing their Tiger 2 in due course. That's a hell of a pad as well.

Bibs are a very personal thing mind.

Aeron Jersey and long sleeve base was just the ticket for my 25 mile commute this morning at 5 degrees.

Thanks for the heads up on it Bender. Great jersey for the money.

Same here, had the lightweight gilet in the back pocket but wished I had something waterproof on the way home - my Aeron softshell is still unused in the wardrobe.

I'm very happy with the quality of dhb bib shorts but the labels in the back sit right above my crack and rub, in fact it's so distracting I don't wear them anymore and won't buy another pair, whoever thought that was a good place to stick the label clearly doesn't cycle much.

Cutting them out just leave sharper short labels, shame because the fit and pad are very good
