Anyhow, I have a Lusso Corsa on the way. I'll keep plugging for the Perfetto (I am paying as well, they just haven't got back to me!) and I've asked dhb for a rain defence.

FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! (the truth is that whilst these are all bracketed as foul weather they are all either mildly or wildly different)

Good on Lusso for responding to you and recognising that you may help to sell more of their clothing through your reviews. We are in the era of blogs that provide in depth reviews and in essence low cost advertising for products reviewed. With this in mind surely there would be a means of selling products with a creative and low cost platform. A respected blogger is likely to increase sales, thus said blogger could be rewarded especially if said blogger could negotiate a "special discount code" for avid readers

Well, that's not a bad idea. I've not really got into it yet but the idea of discount codes for regular readers is a good one. The site is doing well, it gets 500 visitors most days. But it does need to step up a bit. And the relationship between kit provision and publicising is an interesting one. There's a list of good people that basically respond really well to my requests and are really good on email/social media. Then there's a list of people I'm on reserve for, and a list who, well, don't ever respond...........

The Corsa is coming. I fully expect it to be a Mossa lite (from my understanding of what windtex it is). There are no green Perfetto's so the black one or red one will be bought on Tuesday.

The site will get a major upgrade soon. I'm running out of storage space for a start.

And, to add, one of the really important things is plugging the review. So, for example, I can get dhb to retweet but can't get Wiggle to do it. If they did it would really spike. Assos are good at doing it, ditto all the rest! indeed, a retweet every few months is a good thing IMO

I'm doing a nice thing with the Isadore review I hope. It may slow it down if I can't get a response over the weekend but wanted to tag it on.

Isadore was set up by Martin and Peter Velits (Quickstep and BMC) so I've done a Q&A thingy as well.

    Bender,

Any experience of the 3/4 aeron

    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-aeron-34-bib-tights/

Are they just longer version of aeron bibs you reviewed or a different material, thickness or construction
Fabric components are identical on website

And how suitable are aeron bibs for hot weather I.e. high 20's early 30's?

Well, having looked at the reviews (what little there are) I have just ordered the Lusso Corsa and arm warmers from Merlin (£110 all in), as I was after something 'Gabba-ish' but short sleeved and lighter for warmer days.
I was tossing up between this and the dhb Rain Defence, but the fact the Lusso stuff is made locally (relatively) swung it. I do like the look of the red and black dhb though...

I'll post when they get here midweek (or back end given the bank hol) with first impressions.

No experience but they do just seem to be 3/4 versions of the Aeron. As to temps, the Aereon are perhaps, and I mean perhaps, that bit thicker and more durable material, than some of the lightweight options but I've never really had a sweating issue on my legs in high heat. Jerseys of course a different matter.

Mine will be here mid week as well. I'm actually expecting Mossa lite rather than Gabba lite, which will be a real bonus.

Perfetto then. LOL, you're going to have to wait. XL as per my Gabba, Alpha, any jersey I've ever had etc. Can't get the XL on. And I'm not really sure I can even contemplate wearing an XXL.

Somebody else said the same here: http://road.cc/content/review/188063-ca ... eve-jersey

I guess its like their climbers jerseys are even smaller than the normal ones.

Might actually suit me though as I sit on the cusp between XL and XXL and usually go XXL as the XL is just the tiniest bit too small still (except the normal jerseys). So to get an XXL which is the tiniest bit smaller could be good for me.

I don't mind per se. I don't really care whether I'm a large in Parentini or an XL in Castelli. What I mind is that you should be able to assume that a Gabba light or Alpha light will be of a roughly similar size. I don't want to prejudge what the bigger one is like but the arms are way too tight as well. It's defintely, as suspected, more Alpha than Gabba

EDIT: On reflection I might just test it as is. It's basically second skin. Perhaps that's the way to do it. But I do think that there should be a tiny bit more room. I didn't intend keeping it so it will be in the classifieds once I'm done.

Definitely more of the road.cc fit than:

    http://www.wigglestatic.com/product-med ... h=1200&a=7

Which is more how I'd expect it to look being Alpha based

Odd! My perfetto arrived today. I went for a large, but on the basis my alpha jacket is xl and a snug fit with a base plus light jersey under, thought I might end up swapping for a bigger one. Large perfetto is actually a perfect fit with a base, mine seems to size up more than the alpha!

That's really weird! Do me a favour if you can and measure it pit to pit. My XL is 19.5 ish inches, so 39 all the way round. I'm actually going to wear it today though, tight as it is, to test it in warm conditions. Indeed, today appears to be its exact range (but no rain).

Not sure what temps this morning, about 6 I reckon and about 10 by the time I got in. 18mph average.

No sweat on the Perfetto at all. Unusual and very effective. Trip home today will be the limit of the range (20 degrees) and possibly more. If it gets through that.

I've concentrated more on temps than rain because a) they're more relevant given the range and b) it isn't raining. We know that it will perform in the rain.

Have you received the Lusso Corsa yet Chris?

I got mine yesterday, but I'm still in two minds whether to keep it (along with the arm 'warmers'). The jersey itself is very thin, if you hold it up to the window you can see the light through it, which isn't a deal breaker - it's for the warmer months after all - but there were a couple of issues I have with it.
The sleeves have what I presume is a 'gripper' made from a different material, looks like reflective material and it's not really that elastic, so it just hangs loose around my puny..sorry, climbers, arms. The same sleeve end has a very pronounced seam that makes a very audible scrape against the body of the jersey when you move your arm back and forth.
The arm warmers are also pretty thin, made from the same Windtex material. I can imagine they would shed the water, but not keep your arms that warm, as there is no Roubaix lining. The fit is okay, not great (and I got a small, the smallest size they do), they aren't as skin-tight as I'd like.

I have now ordered the dhb Rain Defence top, and I'll see which I get on with better then send one back - also ordered Sportful NoRain arm warmers as I have the same leg warmers and really rate them.

If I'm still unimpressed with either, they'll both go back and I'll try the Perfetto!

Not yet! But actually it might be the one I'm looking for! I'm about to take the Perfetto into 20 degrees, report back in an hour or so! I do wonder whether the sheer number of these things and niches has got beyond. Indeed I wonder whether the Perfetto is better than a Fawesome......

I tried my new DHB blok micro arm warmers for the first time a couple of days ago; they look lovely with the corresponding SS jersey, but irritatingly start to slide down when traversing rough road surfaces. Got them in medium as suggested by the size guide, but now reckon I should have gone for small (I too appear to have climbers arms)

Annoyingly I chucked all the tags and packaging after trying them on the first time, so I doubt Wiggle would have them back. They seemed to fit OK while poncing round the house, it's just the vibration from rough roads that seems to shake them down. Maybe a discreet bit of needlework...

Ok, the Perfetto absolutely does not get damp. Caned it home, 19.5 mph average. I'm clammy, it is dry.

So it passes the temp test. At least it passes the "you could wear it in" test...... thing is, I wouldn't. Would have been far happier in a normal jersey!
